No it’s cool we were supposed to be on the road to Eden Saw Woods LTD in Port Townsend when I got a spark of inspiration. Long story short we got out of the house a couple hours later because I had several ideas. Got some good Bloodwood and Curly Maple for knife scales and rings. It’s cool my wife took an interest in what I was doing and watched me do it. Plus I’d have no idea how to send it in to Spyderco for consideration.

I'm very impressed that there is a husband and wife team on this forum! My wife is buying me something Spyderco for Christmas, but that about covers it for her.
PM sal if you feel like it. There is a way to submit these types of ideas, I've seen it. Pete/Peter is the first name of someone to look things over if I remember correctly. Hey, you never know.

I was using my mini light saber to slice up cardboard. Really fun and easy to cut up cardboard with this knife even though it’s a pretty thick knife.

Now that the scaffolding used for refacing this building has been removed, I can clean up the planter on my balcony and plant something. Though it's a bit late in the season, perhaps some flowers will give some color like this Tasman Salt 2.

My most interesting use this week was to use the acute tip of my PM 2 to remove a little deer tick that was burrowing into the skin of my arm.

I’m 99% sure these are elderberries that I am harvesting. Gonna make a syrup with them. Can anyone in here confirm with certainty?

Had an emergency drywall patch at the apartments I do maintenance at. The only tool I had for cutting the drywall was my DLT exclusive PM2 in S90V. Needless to say, I was a little reluctant to use it. But it performed great. Only needed a strop afterwards. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics.

Ryan, do you have another picture? I think they look too big to be elderberries, but I can't tell for sure.
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Yeah, my wife politely told me I’m a dummy and collected the wrong ones. Still not sure what these are but probably not edible. Northern Utah.

My identifier says Oregon Grape or Cascade Barberry.
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
With all the talk about C95's I thought I should put mine to some use.

So my CE C95 helped me break down this weekends haul of illegal road side signs for the trash.

Not a job I should have to do, but a job I will continue to do as long as it takes.

Eh let the signs stay, can’t be any worse than all the 2024 election signs everywhere

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Well there's two issues with that.Tristan_david2001 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 3:56 pmEh let the signs stay, can’t be any worse than all the 2024 election signs everywhere
1. It's illegal here.
2. People are happy to put up the signs, but no one ever removes them. Over time due to exposure they break down into thousands of bits of plastic litter per sign that contaminates the environment.
Trust me, as soon as election day is over, I'm cleaning house. Taking the 6th off and getting all of the ones I can find.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Good work Vivi! I finally got to hold a Manix XL (or as you like to call it, the Manix, as opposed to the mini manix haha) I met and had lunch with an Army blackhawk pilot. This has been his EDC for at least a decade of service. Been all over. I had the privilege of putting a fresh edge on it and cleaning it up.
Before: After: Edited to add:
I really like the full size manix much more than I thought I would. The hook on the end of the handle does make it stick high out of the pocket but man it is nothing of not ergonomic. And the blade shape is superior to the mini manix for most things. I appreciate the extra edge and the more robust tip. Cool knife!

So potentially still edible? I just threw them out. I would like to do some more studying on foraging wild edibles. Seems like a handy thing to have knowledge about.
