I think you'll be able to find one either new or second hand. I'd get one for you and hold it until then if you want, but there would be shipping costs.

Sent you a PMJD Spydo wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 10:50 amAnybody got any idea as to how fast these TEMP 1 Sprint models are selling? I just got news I'll be getting funds on the 02 of November. I just hope they don't sell out before then.
The TEMP1 has been my favorite fixed blade going all the way back to 2004 when I got my first two. They say :"if there's a will then there's a way". This is one I will not miss.
And then to have a Cruwear blade on top of everything else>> talk about a really good dream coming true.

Another cool application for the Temperance would be as the first production blade using HIC ceramic, as the handle is non metallic.

File this under “knives I’m never going to use because they’re too pretty.” Just look at that polish job they did on this blade! It’s a beauty. I might not ever get around to putting any love scuffs on it, but it’s already cemented itself pretty firmly in my collection.

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence
I carried this for the first time this weekend. It reminds me of a Mule XL in feel and shape. The handle accommodates a gloved hand easily. The FRN feels and sounds solid, while being rather bland. Im luke warm on the texture and finger divots.
The blade is wonderful. I am a HUGE fan of the shallow serrations that Moki produces on their knives (this one and the Ayoob both have the shallow barely-serrated edge).
I picked up a Delica Serrated K390 at the same time and the deeper delica serrations are far inferior to the shallow Moki style. Im enjoying the Delica too, but the shallow Moki scallops are much less snaggy while still maintaining aggressive cutting. The shallow Moki serrations are truly the best of both worlds (PE/SE)
4mm thick seems about right for a blade this size. Fit and finish are very nice.
At $135 this knife is a deal! Nice to see there are still some occasional spyderco deals to take advantage of! Its a big hunk of CruWear for a very approachable price.

I checked out the SE version a few weeks back when I was passing through Golden.
I can’t wait for the PE version to drop.
I’ll probably buy two of them, one for myself and another for one of my kiddos.
I already have a designated garden knife, or Ida grabbed one of the SE models.
My PD#1 Endura has me hankering for more Cruwear!

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence
I bought the SE version thinking “that’ll be the one for me - I’ve got plenty of PE fixed blades and hardly ever use them”, but now I’ve been using it for a few weeks I’ve come to the realisation that it probably would be happier with a PE sibling to hang out with in my knife drawer at work. That’s my excuse legitimate reason and I’m sticking to it.Buddafucco wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 9:17 pmPlainEdge:

I keep checking this thread, hoping someone will post the plain edge available at a site I'm unfamiliar with and not keeping an eye on. You could really mess with me if you kept bumping the thread to the top, every time someone posts I whip out my credit card.

Re: Cruwear Lightweight Temperence
I'm definitely picking one of these up, but am torn between SE and PE.
I understand the SE is a very mellow ground, more like the Ayoob than typical Seki SE blades. Sound about right?
My only other SE FB is an Aqua Salt, which has more pointy serrations.
Any thoughts either way on grabbing a SE or waiting a bit longer for PE? My main uses for a FB are as my primary cook knife when camping. And potentially general campfire chores. Nothing crazy.

Identical to the Ayoob. Maybe even more mellow. They are not snaggy at all. I just used it as a food prep knife this weekend and was very pleased.Capt'n Boatsalot wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 8:44 amI understand the SE is a very mellow ground, more like the Ayoob than typically Seki SE blades. I've fallen in love with the Moki (Ayoob style) serrations. They're the best of both worlds - smooth enough that they dont leave ragged cuts, but extremely aggressive at the same time.
I was slicing up a foam mattress some idiot threw into a stream near my house alternating between the Ayoob SE and Delica K390 SE, and the Ayoob performed significantly better as it sliced aggressively and did not snag. The Delica needed more back and forth movement to cut, even at a lower angle. Also, the degraded fabric cover was prone to snagging.
So get SE if you want more aggressive cutting at the expense of a little finesse, or PE if you want cleaner cuts at the expense of a little aggression.
