Agreed. The AWT liner delete scales for the PM2 take the knife to the next level. I keep hoping they do liner delete Skinny scales for the Endura. The thought of a linerless Endura with a neutral handle has me looking into making my ownAirlsee wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 1:22 pm
The Bugout in aluminum is one of the best EDC packages ever created and very hard to displace.
I wish Spyderco would use aluminum much more often. Light, rigid, cheap, nearly corrosion proof and seemingly easy to machine...I don't understand why it's not utilized more.

Lots of character in the more traditional knives. Love jigged bone!

If I'm not carrying a Spyderco, it's either this 4 Max Scout, a Recon 1 spear point, or an ESEE 4 with 3D micarta scales.

How does the Esee handle feel? I held one a long time ago and it felt cramped but I could be misremembering.

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
I have a new embarrassment of riches, again in the form of new GECs. I try not to do this, but i ended up buying a handful in a week.
This 32 Engineer is my first stag GEC and boy is it nice! It is a 3 7/8" closed swell-center. The stag has great character and is well balanced. It is hafted rather thick, and is the most hand filling of my GECs. I do like jack knives, and have a bunch, but i am currently on a kick of buying knives like this one with two blades- opposite end- on a single spring.

The regular handles are just barely big enough for a full grip behind the choil for me. They feel a little cramped. Despite this and a few other things I'm not wild about, I still really enjoy carrying and using my ESEE 4's.RugerNurse wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 4:50 amHow does the Esee handle feel? The HM series has roomier handles. Used to own the 6, currently just have the 3. That's the way to go if you're worried about handle size.
Guess I lied in my last post. Also got a Recon XL and Voyager XL in rotation.
Dreaming of one of these with a Spyder hole, Glesser style ergonomics and DLC 4V:

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
I keep my EDC selection pretty trim usually. 8 folders and 2 fixed blades is about the max my little drawer can hold.
Every once in a while I go through my bin of knives in storage and carry something different.

Today that's a Frenzy. One of the only folders that looks big in my hands.
It's an interesting design. Very slim and light for the size. IMO the best utility blade shape there is - very subtle recurve wharncliffe. Razor sharp splinter picker point.
Why did I pull it from my EDC rotation?
Not the most efficient slicing grind VS an XL Voyager or Recon, and it's one of the only folders I have that even I hesitate to pull it out at times.
Neat design though.

The K2 is what really started the Spyderco addiction for me, so I've been looking for the Rex 121 version for years now. Finally found one, for a great price.

Shopping for my new Spyderco, I ran across a Doug Ritter EXLRSK® MK1-G2 - G10 (3.44" SW MagnaCut) G-Mascus® Grn G-10 Handle . I can't figure out how to post a picture, I'm not sure if I have that privilege yet. The Spyderco Manix 2 XL is on the Christmas list.
