Hi S7ORM3X,

Welcome to our forum.

You'll probably have to send it into the factory. We've built many Manix G-10 models over the years and there have been many adjustments made.

Have attempted to contact support to get a replacement body screw for a pre-CQI Military both via email and the contact form on the website multiple times over the past several weeks. So far no response. Not sure if it's the Holidays or what, but not looking hopeful.

I would just wish I could get info about parts interchangability. There seems to be aftermarket screws and screw kits for the PM2 and Para 3 for folks to upgrade to titanium and different colors. I bought a used Shaman that had after market scales. I assumed that it would be under warranty since he took it apart. I didn't like the after market scales so bought other scales and tried to replace them. I couldn't get the little last bit of blade play. I ended up snapping off a pivot screw so I need a new pivot screw and pivot barrel for the shaman. I think the Titanium after market PM2 or Para 3 pivot screws and pivot barrel would work. I can't find any for the shaman. I don't want to take one of my stock knifes apart to see if they would work because I think that voids the warranty. I don't agree with that. Folks like to take there knifes apart to clean them and smoot out the action. This should be allowed. Does anyone know if the Para 3 or PM2 pivot and screws will work on my shaman? I can find the pivot screws but not the stepped down D on one side pivot barrel. Can anyone help me? Thank you ! ----Terry

I have a problem now. I snapped off a pivot screw in the pivot barrel of a shaman. I was installing RGT micarta scales. I noticed the liners on one side was loose in the scale. Then it I couldn't get all the play out I figured it was due to the loos fitting liner but I snapped the pivot screw trying to get all the blade play out. My dumb mistake. I need to buy a new pivoy screw and a pivot barrel. I can find pivot screws for the shaman but not the pivot barrel. Does anyone know where to get shaman pivot barrels or if PM2 or para 3 pivot barrel would work on my shaman. The end of the screw is stuck in the pivot. Any help would be greatly apprciated. Thank you!

Seems to me the overriding subject is hardware. Nobody loses a stop pin. What we lose is the hardware attaching said stop pin. Could it be possible to post spec sheets for various models with an exploded view and parts descript on the Forum? Kind of like a Haynes or Chilton Auto manual back in the day.. (rebuilt my first carburetor
at 16 with no prior experience using a Chilton guide;-)
With the availability of hardware and secondary Parts on the web, ( i.e. Amazon), it should be no problem to get a replacement screw in the right diameter and thread pitch as long as we knew what we were ordering. It may take a concerted effort on the part of Spyderco, but I'm sure the knife community would praise the effort for dipping into the archives and creating a spec sheet inquiry data base accessible to all.
Just a thought.

I have ordered those said Titanium screws before and on arrival they are not good quality as I had hoped.
So you guys be very careful using them. Good ones want be picked up by a magnet... I would stay with what you get from Spyderco.

I would like to see some aluminum-bronze thrust washers for our Spyderco knifes. Some in a couple different thicknesses would be great.
Heck I know they would not value enough to be sensible to sell two at a time for Spyderco, but hey I would be down for 50 to a bag of each thickness or 100 if that would trip the trigger lol...

Let's have 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm thick, those sizes would work wonders on all my Spyderco knives...
If not enough, I will order a 100 of each screw size and type we have on them to make this order work for them. I like to have the hardware handy and in bulk... This would really help with cleaning and maintaining our knifes.

Try Skiffs rocket bearings on line. They offer a variety of phospher-bronze washers and caged bearings for many popular knives. They also have a compatibility chart on line. I changed out the bearings on my Southards and in my smock.

As you can see the original bearings on my Southard consisted of eight stainless steel bearings in a nylon cage.. riding on a racer.
Bearings from skiff are 13 ceramic bearings in a phosphor bronze cage.
Can I tell the difference performance wise?
No.. but the fact that they are ceramic bearings in a phosphor bronze cage gives me peace of mind that these bearings will remain smooth as butter for YEARS to come.

Just got myself last three Spyderco parts kits from the local store. Two for Endura 4 and one for Delica 4. That supply should last me a lifetime. Looks like these are no longer available.

My last seven folders purchased were from Spyderco. I love the quality etc. Most understand what I am speaking of. Once you get past the hump on some models you just want more Spyderco knives. With that said, not being able to purchase some of the most basic parts, like bushings, is really frustrating to say the least. I don’t want to ship my Para Military 2 back and possibility pay $25 just for a $5 bronze bushing. As well as wait weeks for a knife to come back, that I want in my pocket. So I was forced to look for an aftermarket part. When replacing a common part I prefer to buy Spyderco and support an American Co. For that matter maybe Spyderco could put an extra set of washers in with a new knife, like other companies do. Ok done the rant and back to fidgeting my knife and driving my wife crazy ;)

I have a Domino, it has the paper thin cheap washers under the bearings that fail, a blatant design flaw. Spyderco would not take responsibility for the issue years ago so I put it away and quit buying their knives. Got it out recently and tried to get the washers sent (if they have any). Their policy of not sending parts was given and would require me to spend possibly $30 or more to send the knife in for a part that will in all likely hood fail again. They never actually corrected the issue with the design. I will never buy another Spyderco product ever again and will let everyone know why.

Sure thing, tell your friend not to buy one.

I'll buy two so you're cancelled out.

Hi NoMoreSpyders,

Welcome to our forum, I guess. Sorry for your disappointment. We haven't had many complaints about the washers? Funny that you would go out of your way to post, years later about not getting what you wanted? Maybe some day in the future, you'll give us another try?

Let's hope not. One of the hardest lessons to learn in business is there are some customers you are better off not having. This sounds like one of them.
