What "Other" is in your pocket???
Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
Lots of making kindling wood, clearing paths when camping (of course less often these days than I'd like!) Cutting down some of our landscaping each fall. It's definitely had it's share of use and it's fun to beat on knowing it wasn't expensive haha. Edge has held up pretty well and I've just touch it up quite a few times on that cheap and easy to work with steel. Comes with a nice kydex sheath to boot! One of my favorite "knives"

I always have a SAK in a pocket, but not an energy drink…
(I tried to get a Rex-45 Manix, but GP Knives flatly refused to ship internationally, even after I had asked nicely, which I found somewhat puzzling. Many co's ship to Aus, a low risk country, so why turn someone away who wants to give you his money and who is willing to accept the risk).

So, I wound up selling the Clandestina I had - just couldn't get used to that short handle.
After that, i then used my store credit from KSF & got Lon Humphrey's new model called the Parabellum.
Lon Humphrey makes some of the most beautiful knives I've seen - especially his scales -
And I got the Parabellum in wood that I've never tried before called Tasmanian Blackwood.
Tasmanian Blackwood reminds me a bit of Dark Curly Maple. It's really rich and lustrous.
For those that don't know, Lon does most of his blades in Forged 52100 & his heat treat is very good.
The last couple knives I had from Lon, the hadles/scales were a bit thin - (Viper & Ranger)
Nothing real bad but, enough to notice - or nag at ya - ya know what I mean.
But, the Parabellum handle and scales are thicker and fill the handle superbly well. I really like this knife - blade length is 4.8" & overall 9.8" weighing 7.9oz and the blade thickness is 180"
And I really feel that the price of his blades are really very good. Your getting a gorgeous highly functional blade. 52100 is one of my favorite blade steels - especially since wicked wax came out
At any rate, I've already been using this knife and I just love it to be quite honest. It handles phenomenally well and all Lons blades get so freaking sharp and will cut like ****
Here's a couple pics

No spydies today

The 4 Max Scout is something special. Closest any folder has ever felt to a fixed blade for me, arguably the best ergonomics in a folder for my grip, and can handle chopping, batoning and prying without issue.
I needed to stab a hole in some really thick plastic the other day and this was the knife I reached for. After it performaned flawlessly for that job it made me want to carry it more often.
Usually I carry something lighter, whether my Catcherman or Voyager XL. But if you can stand the weight in the pocket, the 4 Max sure is awesome.
Oh yeah, they can be found as cheap as $40, which is absurd for how nice it feels in hand. Lots of color options too. One day I'll get one that matches this LM rebar.

Thanks! It's my favorite ZT model as well --feels very solid and is a delight to flip open.

that's incredibly cool. those scales are in really good shape for how old the knife is.
How'd the steel feel while sharpening it up compared to modern 1095?

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
I found this knife on an open air antique market on the bottom of a cardboard box filled with worn out junk knives, and it was inside the blue leather pouch also in the pics, which most likely kept the wood well protected.
Paid the massive amount of 10 Euro (about 10 US dollars) for it.
The steel grinds & sharpens quite easy like most 1095 steel, but it keeps a keener edge for longer.
