I've recently started to think about trying out a larger folder. I usually use a Wharnie Delica which I replace with more substantial Rock/LeafJumper when I expect to fight Elite Cardboard Boxes. When I looked at available options, Endela seemed like a reasonable step up. However, when I compared the specs, I've noticed that it very close in size to my Rock/LeafJumpers (especially when it comes to edge length vs LeafJumper).

This makes me wonder, how big is the difference between those two? Unfortunately, on my side of the big pond, Spydies are rarely available locally, so I've never seen a live Endela specimen. If they are as similar as the specs suggest, they probably compete with each other, which hurts the popularity and sales of both of them (RIP RockJumper...).

The handle of the Endela is about 4 mm longer than that of the Leafjumper. Actual sharpened edge of the Endela is only about 2mm longer though. Endela has a Boye dent and jimping on the thumb ramp, while Leafjumper has neither.

So preference would probably boil down to which fits your hand better, and if you prefer the handle forward design of the Leafjumper.

I have had Delica and Endura since the 1990s - Picked up my first Endela in K390 a year or so ago and it is my most carried knife these days.

I've always felt that the Stretch filled the gap between the Delica and Endura however this thread has motivated me to take a look at the Endela.

Thanks for the pictures, they've helped me a lot. At least superficially, they are really similar. Probably enough, to make users less interested in knifes to choose one based on availability, color or price. This surely doesn't help Endela sales.

As for me, Endura seems to be a better fit in my quest For A Longer Spyder, so I've ordered a PD#1 one. Still, I'm curious about Endela, so probably sooner or/than later I'm going to get one too ;)
