I've been carrying one quite a bit lately, but it's also an ego trip for me. I designed the pattern, I designed the texture, I invented the lock and with Crucible's help, I created the steel. So much for beating on m own chest. Done now.

Sal, good to see you on the forum.

The Sage 5 or Shaman will be my next purchase. The FRN pattern is very cool on the Sage, gives it a great look.

Thanx WilliamMunny.

I'm starting to have hope of caching up and moving forward. I've got letters to write and packages to ship.

I am very much looking forward to the G10 version, hope they go in stock at BladeHQ soon where I have a preorder.

And after that, Magnacut in G10 someday soon I hope… :)

As an EDC I think the Sage may be the best short of a use case where you use it heavily every day cutting cardboard and whatnot professionally. I’ve been using the Sage2 for years and it’s pretty fantastic still.

I just got the notice that my BladeHQ pre order has shipped. I would assume they'll have it stock soon.

Hey Demratus,

Welcome to our forum.

I'm waiting for my test sample. This is a very obstinate material, which is great for edges. I'm curious as to how thin I can make it and not hurt the edge.

You lost me sir. Which material are you referring to ? I am a “make them as thin as possible bte” fanatic, that’s why I’m asking.

Elena, I think he was replying to me, and based on what I posted plus his reply: my interpretation is he got test samples of either Sage5 stock in magnacut, or at least some stock thinner than the current production knives Spyderco has in magnacut. Currently they have the Native, the PM2, and PM3. So Sal is testing out thinner stock for other models like the Sage and even thinner like the Delica?

Hi Marius,

Sorry for the confusion. I got some models mixed up. I'd been carrying the Sage in SPY27, but it was the Rex 121 piece that I was referring to making in thinner. I had my sample, but had misplaced it. I now have it in my pocket and I'll start thinning it out as I sharpen it.
