Mine has got to be the Yojumbo. One of the first Spyderco knives I ever bought (CF S90V). I use mine for grafting trees of all things, but it is still the knife that gets the most dramatic reactions from non-knife people. Something about it screams loudly to their inner fight or flight reaction (exclusively the latter in my experience so far), so I’d say mission accomplished for an SD focussed knife. To me it looks like if a predator’s tooth had a folding love child with a butcher’s knife.

Long, serrated blade…especially a curved one looks mean in my book.

I have to concur with the Yojumbo and Civilian. Also, the Street Bowie.

I would look at the why portion first…

Personally I’d disqualify any knife you could also make a proper peanut butter sandwich with. (In addition to spreading the peanut butter, proper would include cutting it in half, diagonally.)

I’d be left with a Civilian or Matriarch.

Hundred Pacer - because of its size and upswept blade profile, along with the diamond-textured G10 scales that evoke images of snakes.

Chinook 1 - because of how solid it feels in hand. You could keep it in the closed position and bludgeon someone with it.

Schempp Rock - because it reminds me of a kukri.

Also, any fully blacked out serrated Spydie.

Looks: coated blade matriarch.

Use: reverse and p’kal. If you understand those knives design and use then you understand why. If you don’t, a shivworks class or some force on force training with someone who does will make you a believer.

There's just something about a hawkbill blade where it looks like the tip is dripping off. I've always thought that these looked the nastiest.

Any long blade with a shallow or straight belly with a low blade point.

If they ever make a wharnie Resilience or Police 4 it'll be the king of slashing cuts.
