Are all Endura’s now lined?
Yes, all Endura 4s have nested steel liners (but are still pretty light).

An "Endura" without liners is a Pac Salt 2...;)
(and also has the minor differences of a larger opening hole which also makes for a steeper thumbramp and a less pointy, more sheepsfooty tip)

And of course there is the stainless steel Endura 4. All metal, and so technically no liners.
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

I’m in for a couple more Stretch XL variants and probably a Temperance.

Interesting Reveal, not at all what I was expecting (like no 15V?!). There’s some really interesting Seki knives in there. I’m surprised by the dual G10 and lightweight Sages (seems a bit of overkill to me), and I guess I have to be the one to say that I’m not super pleased that the Techno 3 isn’t being made in Taichung as all the other Slysz designs have been. No offense to Lionsteel or whomever is making it in Maniago, but the Taichung Slysz models are top notch and this one will be a cousin, not a brother. Maybe having a few less Sages offered would have made enough room in the Taichung queue.

I was surprised to see both versions of the Sages as well. Maybe they're testing the waters to see which performs better (sales wise). No matter the reason, it's nice to see the Sage get more attention. I have never owned or tried one, and it's a model I sometimes forget about entirely, and that's a shame because it really seem to be one of the better CL offerings. Hopefully these new variations will bring it out in the spotlight, where I think it deserves to be.
Personally I've lost much of my initial interest in comp. lock knives, but at the same time I feel like the Sage deserves a chance. Might flip one of my P3s to buy a Sage one of these days.

I'm kind of surprised that the T3 is not being made in Taichung too but, I have to say, the quality of my Spymytos seems to be very similar to Taichung. If the blades weren't marked Lionsteel I wouldn't know they weren't made in Taichung

I have a couple of small fixed blades out of Maniago that are just superb. No quality issues whatsoever and the leatherwork on the sheaths is some of the best I've seen.

Oh snap, the rex121 isn't a sprint

Oh snap, the PD1!

We're so back, boys
I bet the sage 5 maxamet gets discontinued next year. They already discontinued the sage 1 maxamet.
Now we get G10 and FRN replacements in Rex 121

Do I want the Sage 5’s in LW or g10??
This is the weighty question--pun most definitely intended--I have been pondering since the reveal. But if I'm being honest with myself, I already know the answer: both of them.

Please note I don’t have any issues with Lionsteel or other Maniago makers, I’m just not a fan of how different the T3 will look compared to its siblings. There’s a loss of continuity there. Won’t stop me from buying one…

Since I don't expect Magnacut to come to the Seki lineup anytime soon, those PD#1 models look interesting. I've never tried for a sprint run before so fingers crossed I can snag a couple.

It's the flipper only / lack of opening hole that is the crucial loss of continuity for me and makes this version pretty much irrelevant, but that's a feature that carries over from the mouse 3 if I remember correctly, so I guess it's true to its origin in that regard. Also not a fan of milled clips, but that alone wouldn't stop me from buying a knife.
The Mouse 2 is the current pinnacle of the mouse series IMO. I feel like some of the magic of the M2 was lost in translation and didn't quite carry over to the production model, so the T2 didn't turn out quite as I hoped. It's OK, my titanium frame lock phase was mostly behind me even before I got my hands on the T2, and by this point I haven't been tempted by one in several years. I keep hanging on to the T2, but I should probably let it go.

I expected to see more excitement about the models in SPY27. While overshadowed by S45VN and MagnaCut, it looks like a cool steel and I've been meaning to try it. So I'll definitely be picking up a Sage 5 here.

Maybe one day we'll get lucky with a Dragonfly 2 or Wharncliffe Dragonfly in SPY27...

I use my para 3 LW in spy27 almost every day. It’s a great steel and I look to get more.

I was very excited to see a K390 Stretch XL! Unfortunately both the newly announched Stretch XL's are linerless. I was hoping to see nested steel liners to give that long handle more rigidity.
Since the first Stretch XL came in linerless FRN it was to be expexted that all following FRN versions would do so too, right? Otherwise they´d have had to make new molds, which is quite expensive afaik...

Did you ever try a linerless FRN Stretch XL? Rigid and sturdy enough in my book, though the similarily sized linered Endura for example does have less flex indeed.
I think this is the model I am most looking forward to.

I was excited to see the Lil’ Native being offered in SPY27 since my workplace recently enacted a 2.5 inch blade length rule. Hopefully it will be released sooner than later, along with the cobalt blue G10 SPY27 UKPK, which is the model I’m most excited to see be offered in this configuration (but sadly can’t be carried at work).

What are the features you miss from the custom techno 2?

When you ask me so many years later, I’m not exactly sure :)
I remember being a bit disappointed with Spyderco’s priorities when it came to clip placement vs lanyard hole, but looking at it now it’s not like the custom is obviously better.
I appreciated that the blade stock was made thinner than on the T1, but if I remember correctly the titanium slabs were made thicker, so nothing was gained in terms of carry comfort. Again, I don’t know if this is a departure from the custom, but I was somewhat let down by this choice.
In reality they may not be all that different. The pictures of the mouse 2 gave off some impressions and expectations and those weren’t quite met. It might not be Spyderco’s doing, but rather my brain’s interpretation of the pictures.
I do think the simple spring clip and blue barrel spacers on the custom are more fitting for the design than the wire clip and zombie green spacers, but those are minor nitpicks. As far as existing Spyderco clips go, the wire clip was definitely the right choice.

My thoughts about this reveal:

I am excited to see Rex121, but compression locks are not my thing, so I will wait for a different Rex121 model. In the meantime I have Maxamet.

I like Spy27, but not as much as Magnacut and these knives have mostly compression locks. I am really waiting for the Magnacut Chiefs.

The K390 Stretch 2XL - I already have a K390 Stretch 2.
The PD1 Stretch 2XL - I already have a Stretch 2 XL G10 in Cruwear.
I also already have the Maple Chap.

I am not sure about the T3. I am actually looking for a nice titanium framelock flipper, just not sure this is it. I prefer PB washers. I only have one folder with ball bearings in my collection, which is also a flipper, and I am thinking about selling it.

I kinda like the PD1 Dragonfly, but I already have a couple and I carry Chaparrals way more. So I'll keep waiting for the SE Chaparral.

I am trying to restrict my knife purchases to two a year and the SE Chap and the MC Chief still fits into my lineup the best so far.
