Well... to me the personally Stretch XL LW in K390 is "Sals folder" in the new Reveal... ;)
But that´s just me, and you are of course 100% right that the Spy 27 Millie 2 features more of what Sal genuinely invented!

I am sure you´ll enjoy your two Millies!! :clinking-mugs
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

These Millies would be nicer with framelocks, but I'm in for one.

sal has been noticeably absent here on the forum for a little while now. I hope all is well and perhaps he's just enjoying the S2XL K390 a bit too much to make his presence here lately :winking-tongue.

The comp lock on that new "burgundy" Millie 2 makes for a strong knife. The steel is interesting. The SPY27 version looks good, also. I hope the exchange rate gets better by the time they are released.

I actually noticed that too, but then Sal posted again a few days ago in the "Salt dream" thread...

Sorry. I can't read. This is what I get for posting when fighting a migraine coming on. It was a Police, not Millie.

They’re all great it’s just made for different user preference. But when I think of quintessential spyderco design I think of the calypso caly and kopa series, I think they have the deepest design dna roots in spyderco’s in house design history. most of the knives that spyderco makes also have most of those commonly used design features: leaf shape, ramp/choil, arched down swell style handle shape... the temperance series, lil temperance, dragonfly, sage, manix, leaf jumper, super leaf, the whole ukpk design series, cat, Chicago, natives.. probably a lot more I’m not remembering at the moment

Agreed. IMO the Caly line is the "quintessential" Spyderco design.

I appreciate your view. Many people like frame locks. I happen to not be one of them and had advocated for a change from the liner lock to the compression lock. Still, the convenience of the frame lock can't be denied.

I have a passionate dislike of frame locks. I refused to buy the Millie 1 for that one and only reason. I just pulled the trigger on my first Millie 2! I was trying to wait for an appealing sprint run, but I've grown impatient.

I’ll believe Sal has retired if no new designs follow his Rock Jumper, Leaf Jumper, and still-to-be released Cliff Jumper, Sequoia, and Bodacious.

That day is coming, of course…

The Military(even the 2) has Sal’s DNA inside. It’s Sal’s design and people should accept this. Oh, and I just checked the blade of the Millie2 and both Sal’s and Eric’s logos are engraved. I know Eric is in charge now and his contribution to the re-design of the recently released Millie 2 is a certitude but this doesn’t change what I just affirmed.

I’ve read here from the man himself he designed the Shaman for himself. So while his DNA is in everything Spyderco (including Eric 😉) the Shaman, probably in S90V, is Sal’s knife.
