Bumping again for us Euros... ;)

And not without any reason: Now that the new Reveal is out, there are some (more) interesting options for the first Euro dealer exclusive...

- How about a Chief Salt in the finnish colors blue and white (maybe two toned scales)?
...
I'm in the USA, but I like this idea. I may not be able to get one of these but the Native Chief is a heck of a knife. Never disappoints.

Since I am buying a SE Chap anyway, it would be nice to buy it from Lamnia.
Otherwise, an already proposed non-FRN MagnaCut Native/Chief or the Slysz Bowie would do it for me.
I see no reason to adhere to crippling EU laws, just go for what the people want.

I'd join kobold on the Non-FRN MagnaCut Native 5 or Chief or Slysz Bowie in any configuration.
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Are there any updates to that topic?

I wish for a Shaman, plain edge, DLC or new generation coating (like the REC exclusive), OD green or FDE G10 scales.

May that wish come true 😬

Lamnia dropped the idea after I shared link to this thread as requested by them and never got back to me again. Unfortunately it will not happen it seems, most probably too many negative replies impacted the decision making process. I was surprised by quite a few "No" answers from people not even residing in Europe... it is what it is, shame though.

Thanks for the information.

It is really a shame. People who voted for no should think a little about how to behave.

For me, as a Spyderco lover, it is really hard to deal with. I wish we in Europe will get better chance to grab sprints/dealer exclusives. But I think that will NOT happen...

Yes, it is what it is. A shame...

I know,
I think there are a few people that only want the good stuff keeping in America, and because it’s the largest market for Spyderco, that is invariably what happens.
It’s almost akin to “it’s my ball and no one else will play with it” type of playground mentality some people have adopted.

I almost feel sorry for the saddos who actively voted “no” in this poll. Maybe one day they’ll get a life… but probably not.

I do respect people in targeted market saying No, that is absolutely ok :), I was surprised how many U.S. based forum members were interested or supported the idea even without being in the same geography. So, to be fair, I was pleasantly surprised by some good feedback from both camps. We will see, perhaps some other supplier in Europe will try to make some collab, perhaps some other forum member will be active and motivated enough to push this idea through somewhere.

Wait so just because 13% of ~100 people voted no they dropped it? Of course 100% agreement is not possible, but a small amount of pepole not being interested in a exclusive impacted the desicion so negatively? Seems odd tbh.

Why was a “no” option included in the poll then? :winking-tongue

(The ad hominem towards those who may not be interested in this particular knife is a bit of an overreaction, in my opinion)

There is only 11 no votes out of 84 total votes, that is not that many. While this poll may provide some insight into the market for Lamnia, I do not believe it is a large determining factor towards their decision.

There’s a plethora of good suggestions but only a limited amount of consensus in the responses. Of the 73 that voted yes, would that vote remain the same regardless of the chosen model? My guess is that some might change their vote depending on the model or even materials.

The overall cost of commissioning an exclusive is a a barrier to entry even for retailers in the US. I can only imagine what that barrier is like for European retailers to get through. It’s a large investment to make and, if I were to guess, the financial side of commissioning an exclusive is probably the biggest obstacle for retailers to overcome.

Put together poll numbers and negative comments in the thread add a bit of inconsistency on ideas and some too far fetched... I am not saying it is exclusively based on the poll numbers but the whole thread. When re-read it again, it is not the most positive feedback on the idea in some cases :grin-big eyes . I am ok with that, it is what it is. I am not saying it is not ok to say no though, just doesn`t make sense to say no if you are not from the target market.
