Re: What watch you're wearing?
bought a used GW-7900 2012 year, but the reseller deceived me: instead of a rechargeble CTL1616 there was a simple CR1616 battery
і urgently replaced it with a new one from the G-7302, and today another one arrived for it.

Re: What watch you're wearing?
With a watch collection about as oversized as my knife collection some pieces just doesn't get the attention they deserve, and some are sadly almost forgotten.
I don't post much in this topic, but today I wanted to shine some well deserved light on a watch I had practically forgotten about.
The other day I was running late to a formal event and having worn a quartz field watch for the last weeks all my mechanical watches out of juice, and there was no time to wind and set one of my nicer watches so I had almost dismissed the idea of wearing a watch. I wear a watch all the time, so the idea of not wearing a watch was hard to accept. And subconsciously my brain probably continued to look for a solution because suddenly it hit me; I did actually own a fairly dressy quartz watch - the Citizen CB1070-56E.
The last time I gave it any attention was when I found it in my watch box, out of power and with time and date totally out of sync. It's a solar powered watch so I took it to a overhead windowsill in my basement so it could sit there and grab some sunlight and still be out of the way of curious kids. And there it has probably been sitting for a couple of years...
I ran down to the basement, found the watch exactly where I had put it to charge and despite my horrible negligence, this trusty old friend was charged, synced and ready to serve!
As the date suggests, this is indeed a photo from the archive, but I'm still wearing it today even though there isn't a formal occasion. I just liked wearing it again
What initially drew me to this watch was the rather impressive suite of features Citizen had been able to fit into a very wearable package.
Solar powered, radio controlled, 100m WR, sapphire crystal, 42 mm diameter, decent lume and all this in a 9mm thin, ridiculously light full titanium build.
There's a lot to like. The thing is though, my preference lean much more toward tool watches with a rougher esthetic. So while the specs are great and the fit is among the best I own, it's a bit too nice to become an everyday favorite. I've actually had it on my "sell-list" for the longest time, but never come around to it. And with this latest experience I might reconsider.
I'm not into dressy watches and I don't frequent formal events so it's hard to justify a watch where this is the primary use case, but it was indeed nice to be saved by this watch when I needed it - and I've already spent the money so maybe it's worth it. I think it's been discontinued now and I seem to remember paying only about half of the final listings I came across, so the proposition of keeping it isn't too crazy.
Edit to add:
Post count anniversary

I recently bought an apple watch. The reason is that it monitors AFib and will do an ECG that you can send to your doctor.
