Got this one yesterday. Herman knives Ishtar. Pictures don't do it justice, it's such a stunning knife.

That’s some unbelievably rich fat lighter Vivi, I love that stuff…impervious to water and it’s everywhere if you know what to look for…I used to have a firewood co. years ago and we would give a bag of kindling and pitch pine with every order…awesome stuff and the smell is incredible…

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
It used to be a lot harder to find when I lived near the Great Lakes. Down here I stumble across it all the time without even trying. There was an old stump in the middle of where my trail wss going and it looked pretty rotted. I gave it a good kick and to my surprise it didn't budge. So I hacked off the outside and found some super saturated fatwood. I've got about 30lbs of it in the garage now, and left about half of this haul at that camp site for future use. I gotta start giving some away!SaltyCaribbeanDfly wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 4:07 amThat’s some unbelievably rich fat lighter Vivi, I love that stuff…impervious to water and it’s everywhere if you know what to look for…I used to have a firewood co. years ago and we would give a bag of kindling and pitch pine with every order…awesome stuff and the smell is incredible…![]()
The smell is awesome. My daughter keeps a piece on a shelf in her room because she likes the scent.
May you find peace in this life and the next.

you and me have pretty different taste in knives overall, but are on the same sentence of the same page when it comes to colors

May you find peace in this life and the next.

Ha, thank you! Just walking the dogs... Something about a CRK on ice makes for a great pic!SaltyCaribbeanDfly wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 4:10 amI don’t think I’ve ever seen a photo of yours that’s not “off the charts good”![]()

Working on my camp site. Wanted to compare my reprofiled SRKC to my stock Street Beat to get an idea of how thin I should take the SB's edge when I reprofile it.

Love the campin and fatwood flavor in here!
Took delivery today of a new Esee 4 in S35VN.
I always had an eye for their knives. But didn't want to take a chance on maintaining that 1095 HC. I just knew I would use it one day and put it up and find it a week later with a rusted edge...
This one hit the spot. I've got the larger longer scales ordered for it that cover that pommel and makes a lanyard hole out of it...
I've been getting the urge to camp out up on the ridge again soon... sans my mountain camper.
Been a while...
