No, I have a Nikon D500 and I was using my Laowa 100mm f/2.8 lens that day.

Re: Macro & Close-Up Photos!
The first photo is a Bold Jumper that lives inside of a split in an old telephone pole on my property. She just finished moulting and emerged today with some fresh vibrant colors. The second photo is also a bold jumper, I found it this afternoon in the weeds near an old collapsed barn that it likely calls home.

Re: Macro & Close-Up Photos!
Carried my D300 with the Laowa and a tripod on a day hike on Sunday.
Quite the load I’ll tell you. And not a lot of pictures to show for it. That rig in a Capture clip totally threw my light daypack off balance and my I didn’t hike very far before my shoulder was less than enthusiastic about this brilliant idea of mine.
In all my optimism I even threw in some fishing gear for good measure, but neither plan really panned out.
Still a fair amount of snow in the backcountry, so the bugs didn’t seem to have come to life yet.
And the lake still had a rim of ice covering the surface 5 to 10 yards from the shoreline, so I didn’t even bother to try my luck with the fishing rod.
The few pictures I managed to snap didn’t really get me excited, so they’re still sitting untouched in the camera. Plan and execution didn’t come together this time, I still had a great day in perfect spring weather, and with all that dead weight in/on my pack, I had a fair workout as well. Maybe next time around spring has progressed a little further and more opportunities will arise.

Re: Macro & Close-Up Photos!
Glad to hear you made it out! I also have a capture clip but I've never had it make my pack feel lopsided. I still end up just carrying my camera the majority of the time while I'm out. If you do it often enough, just think about how buff your hands will be by the end of the year! haha. Macro can be tough, when I get home to sort my photos at least 80% are instant throw-aways, I take hundreds of photos to get just a few good ones.aicolainen wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 1:28 amCarried my D300 with the Laowa and a tripod on a day hike on Sunday.

Re: Macro & Close-Up Photos!
Great pictures as usual!
Also great service providing names for all the species. Inspiring thread.
Second day of summer is coming to an end here and we're still waiting for spring. I did actually notice a couple of small flies when walking the dog this evening, so something is brewing, but with temps barely making it into the lower 40s in the middle of the day nature moves at glacial speeds.
I'll shoot my insects eventually :)
