@Big_Tex, can you post a link to Hoback's backspacer? I looked on his website and couldn't find it. Thanks!

At this point I would like to announce my plan to acquire a Cruwear Micarta PM2, an aftermarket backspacer, and a Bowie PM2.

I personally already like the way that Bowie prototype looked, but I think the shape would seem more at home on a micarta handle with a backspacer.

I think the backspacer might help balance out a big bowie blade in hand too.

Thanks, Big_Tex.

JH, I kinda agree. I think it's the OD green that throws me off. The backspacer's finish should be satin to match the liners, pivot, and clip.

Ditto!

Is there a description or picture of the different options? I assume Sandblast is a darker finish than the Stonewash. What are "Stoneage Finish" and "Hand Jigged" customizing options?

All I saw was listings of the options available . Honestly did not play much to see if options opened when marked . MG2

I only have one PM2, and it's the one you are going after (good choice). I also have a Schempp Bowie. So I will absolutely be going for a Bowie PM2 - can't wait.

As an aside, I love my Micarta PM2; however, the blade is almost against the liner. I loosened the pivot screw and put pressure on the frame, which helped a little, but now my action is not-so-great. Is there any chance that adding a spacer would help?

From searching her in the forum, I've figured out that probation is probably ten posts, so I guess this one may become visible when no longer useful, but I have to get to ten somehow, and it will be the same situation each time...

Backspacers for the full scale PM2 are now live on Jake Hoback’s website! You can find a video explaining his process on IG hoback_custom_knives
Hi Bryan,
I wasn't able to find anything on his website related to these. Do you have a link?
Thanks,
Scott

Great knife is now even greater, thanks to Hoback Custom Knives - great product, shipped timely. I had never taken this knife completely apart before - some tricky stuff. Getting the micarta around the lanyard hole was ****, but I discovered a few tricks that will help next time.

I could never get the blade centered, but this spacer helped a lot - it's now nearly perfect.

Love that pic! Jake said he’s also offering backspacers for standard PM2’s as well…

Thanks. My second PM2 arrives today - the 15V. Looking forward to finally seeing the nested-liner design.
