I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Someone said in another thread that the Siren carries well IWB, so today I grabbed it from the sock drawer.
Forgot all about the IWB so we need to go on another date again soon.

Still I wonder why Lance designed the handle so that the grip area "curves up" quite early at the handle back end - would have been easy to make the flat area a bit longer as I see it.
Lance posted an answer to a similar question. I believe he said it is designed to be safer when used on a small fishing kayak on the rocking ocean while simultaneously trying to control a large fish.

Maybe we need two versions of the Siren, one for land with the grip space moved closer to the blade, and the original sea version?
Thanks, but I was not talking about the guard at the handle FRONT end.

But how the flat grip area ends pretty soon at the BACK end of the handle and starts to "curve up".
I think this is why the Siren handle is a bit short for Vivis very large hand and his pinky starts to come off the handle end.

For Illustration: The flat grip area ends at the red line in the pic but could have been a bit longer easily given the overall handle length.

I don't have a Siren yet, but I think the handle will be perfect for any but XXL and larger hands and I also think I'll like that guard at the front end.
Looks like one can easily choke up with the index finger in front of the guard should need be.

Image
Yes, apologies. I only realized that much later after handling my Siren. 😳
Hi Warstein - I don’t know about the butt end of the handle but I have xl hands and it fits perfectly and one can easily/comfortably choke up in front of the guard…gonna be replacing my old one tomorrow come he.. or high water!!!👊

Nice Cod!!! Every now and then I’ll hear about someone catching a cod from shore around here but its rare these days. It used to be a lot more common but now they're typically found too deep to reach from the shoreline around here but they're still regarded as one of the best eating fish around.
