Spydercos you wish you could buy half a dozen of...
Re: Spydercos you wish you could buy half a dozen of...
Honestly, none. I would always prefer to have 6 different knives instead.
... I like weird ...

GB1. Slyszc Bowie.
Re: Spydercos you wish you could buy half a dozen of...
I second the GB1. Great piece if the weight works for you.

Re: Spydercos you wish you could buy half a dozen of...
I want only one not six.
Re: Spydercos you wish you could buy half a dozen of...
Completely understandable approach.
But: There are also very good reasons for having multiple versions of the same model - especially if one is not "just" purely collecting, but really using their knives
I for example am long enough into Spydies to pretty much having narrowed it down what works best for me and what I like best, and so trying out my favorite model(s) in different steels, edge configurations, handle matetials, even handle thicknesses (thinking of the slim ss Endura) makes a lot of sense imo
Plus actually makes certain aspects better comparable too, for example different steels in as close as possible similar blades.
And,call me weird, but to be honest: There are days when it just brings me joy to grab the trusty and beloved Endura in a different handle color... ...
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

If I had the cash sloshing around... I would probably buy 6 Tenacious s35vn.
One daily user. One back up. One in the van. One in the shop. Gift one away. Loose one and done.

After the eBay battle I had, Endura 3 Emerson! I wish I had a time machine I’d go back and buy a baker’s dozen! Whoever got that one off eBay, Hats off to you! You were a formidable opponent and I ran out of budget!

I'm still waiting on a forest green 204P Dragonfly. I wouldn't mind 6 of those, but I'd rather have 6 different steels.

I would take 6 H1 Pac Salt SE with the yellow scales. Honestly the only knife I’d ever really need and I do own two already.

Re: Spydercos you wish you could buy half a dozen of...
Please sir, may I have some more?
Re: Spydercos you wish you could buy half a dozen of...
Since we have yellow for h1 and green for lc200n, what about orange for magnacut?
And i so wish the “plain jane” manix 2’s like the dlc s30v had skeletonized liners!

i only said yellow frcp because that's what was mentioned by eric in the video. they already made a yellow magnacut salt though with the native, so i assume they would keep it the same for the manix. i don't really care if it's yellow or orange, personally. i'd much rather have and all black version than anything else.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

Yessss… both are necessary. Definitely need a vibrant and a subdued version.ladybug93 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 6:47 pmi only said yellow frcp because that's what was mentioned by eric in the video. they already made a yellow magnacut salt though with the native, so i assume they would keep it the same for the manix. i don't really care if it's yellow or orange, personally. i'd much rather have and all black version than anything else.

ENDURA MAN!!!!Wartstein wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 2:44 pmNot just a wish, but I actually did buy quite some more than "just" a dozen over the years... talking about, of course, the great ENDURA
It will always be just "my" folder, and "the" Spyderco for me (despite it neither having the rather typical finger choil nor a "Spyderco" lock (comp.lock / CBBL).
After the Delica (which was very nice already, but just too small) it was my second Spyderco and I "grew up" with this knife right from the beginning of my Spyderco-journey. Feels so extremely familiar to me, and I think there is almost no more or less sensible folder task I have not done with an Endura.
Below (pic) the ones I currently still own (I count the Pac Salt as at least very, very endura-ish).
As said: I had some more over the years, two of those I really miss and never should have sold:
- My very first ffg Endura (had several sabre ground versions before) - blue handle, VG10, I loved that thing!
- A ZDP Endura with the british racing green handle. Back at the time the steel was a bit "too much" for, these days, being a bit better at sharpening and also a bit better equipped, I´d really like to try it again.

Re: Spydercos you wish you could buy half a dozen of...
Excellent! :)Did someone say Caly Jr? :)
I did that too and had 6 or 7. Same with that red Jess Horn in ZDP. Those lightweight high performance knives were inexpensive ( around $62) and one of the highest performing knives I'd seen up until that time. Those thin ZDP blades were great slicers. I ended up giving a couple away and sold a couple.
They reminded me of a lightweight special order car from the 60's made exclusively for racing with the biggest engine they had and even the back seats and carpet removed to save weight. I carried one as a second knife for years just because I didn't want to leave it at home.
