I keep acquiring scale material when I don't really need it lol. I'm ready for the next few mules! Also have some black g10 on the way.

I'm ready as well and eager to see how they come out!Josh Crutchley wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2023 4:42 pmI keep acquiring scale material when I don't really need it lol. I'm ready for the next few mules! Also have some black g10 on the way.
While we wait, I'm going to go back to previous mules that have removable scales and do some rework, or perhaps make pinned handles for them. It's a sickness

I have some material too ! And 4 pairs stabilized burl scales coming from Ukraine too. They are expensive, but in my eyes they look so good ! Being able to hand-select the pattern so that you know how it'll look like, and keeping the symmetry on each scale is one of my joys
(Not all my stock, I have a lot of micarta at home)

In the collection : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Can't show much except one set that is near the corby + epoxy step! I've been focusing on personal blades or other projects lately, but I'm back at it and almost have as much Mules in stock that I have woods .sal wrote: Hi Robin,

I won't buy a carbide 6mm drill bit just to go through REX76 (I'm a maniac, so I want my mosaïc pin right in between my corbys), so decorative mosaïc pins it is . My 2 most beautiful pair of scales are reserved by a customer to pick his favorite for the CPM-T15 ( I'll buy 2 and do both handles, I'll keep the one he does not want lol).
After this one, there's a S45VN Mule to do and for this one Imma try to create a screwed pair of scales. Problem is living in Europe, hardware is impossible to find without jacking up the price of the finished product a lot (same for drill bits).

Re: Flock of mules
Australia hardwood collection
Mix of Australian hardwoods
Ringed Gidgee…..it’s cheap as chips in Australia
Purple Acacia…….Pretty rare wood but happened to score a few pieces and a small log that’s drying Acacia carneorum, also referred to as purple-wood wattle
Also a heap the Cat is guarding
Tiger Myrtle, Huon pine, Tasmanian Blackwood and Western Myall

Re: Flock of mules
Roughly finished 2 mules this weekend. Denim micarta, orange and white g10 and red terotuff with white and purple g10.
Hopefully get to start on woods for the 15v and remaining magnacut mules. It was nice having some flock time on this extended break!

Re: Flock of mules
Finished up some mules I've had mocked up for a bit.
Top to bottom: my PMA11 burlap micarta and highlighter yellow G10, 15v Ringed Gidgee (thanks Andy!) Teal G10, and 4v with woodchuck cast and white g10.
This is nearly camouflaged on our countertop
One I finished a few weeks ago but forgot to post. 1st time using box elder burl.
Forgot to rotate the dragon pin so it's upsidedown for now.

Well done! Did you use a router round-over bit on the edges to get that nice even chamfer on the edge?

Sure did. An actual router is sooo much better that a bit in the drill press. Haha.Bolster wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 10:30 pmlegOFwhat? wrote: ↑Mon May 29, 2023 2:12 pmRoughly finished 2 mules this weekend. Denim micarta, orange and white g10 and red terotuff with white and purple
