I'm pretty enamored of the K390 Delica for sliciness champ among folders this year. But the Z-Cuts are next level and I'm now finding it hard to stop thinking about the Watu after those excellent pics.

Is the chaparral really a better slicer then the centofante?

The delica is one of my favorite knives, but I never considered it an amazing slicer

I’m late to the party but Z-cut was my very first thought. Thin wins.

I want a watu now too! I like how there’s kind of a seamless choil up to the edge. Didn’t think it was so close to delica size with a longer edge.

They should offer the Watu with other scales. I've seen the aftermarket wood scales so maybe something to those or micarta would be a good factory option.

The chaparral, delica, dragonfly and the k390 stretch are the best slicers in my collection.

The police, endura and caribbean are close runners up. To be honest, they all slice well. If you keep a nice, aggressive edge, pretty much every Spyderco will blast through material with little effort.
Crucarta: Shaman (x2), Manix 2, Lil Native, Delica (x2), GB2, Para 3, PM2 and Millie 2
Notable: 52100 and Cruwear Millie. “15v-arta” Shaman. REC Manix. K-carta Endura, P4, Dragonfly and Delica.
Favorites: Shaman, all things Sage, Sheeps Caribbean, Manix, Endela and all things Stretch

My Centofante 3 is definitely a better slicer than my frn Chaparral although the Chap is very good. I thinned the edge of the Centofante long ago though so it's not really a fair comparison.

The Delica is too thick bte to be a great slicer but the Chapie is indeed a champ.

Well my K390 Delica is between 0.013" and 0.015" BTE on its first edge ! But I have another that is on its first edge too (ZDP variant) and it's over 0.020" if I recall correctly.

Maybe it's like the Gayle Bradley 1, you can get lucky :grin-smiling-eyes
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

My K390 Delica also came to me new with about those thicknesses BTE.

I have the K390 Delica as well. Was the blade stock thinner than other Delicas?
