My new and improved SD lineup
My new and improved SD lineup
As for self- defence i have come around to trust my Good ol' CS Safekeeper and my Gerber Guardian back- up in addition to my Spyderco Military PE.
Today i got the spyderfly as well and here's a pic to share of my Top-of-the-line SD line- up. Anybody else have some pics to share of their SD line-up?

Aloha Rock!
Fairlane, that's what I carry also...what pjrocco is showing. Very effective and easy to open. :) Add to it elbows, forearms, knees, shins...*yeah*.
To keep in topic here:
I always have my Ed Schempp Persian on me, a GREAT SD knife BTW. When I USED to carry FOR SD, I usually carried an Endura, Delica, Police, Merlin, Cricket, or simply whatever knife I had on me at the time would work, but those five were mainstays. Also, knowing they'd be immediately taken from me to wear an Evidence Tag, I knew these were easily replaceable. Right now, I been learning the secrets of Kinetic Kool Aid via my Gunting...THAT'S a fun :spyder: !
Nice to see the Safekeeper II again, as well as the Gerber Guardian...I had both, but away they went to friends. Nice pics and great choices!
God bless

pjrocco,
That's so funny, but true! :p
Hi Daywalker,
How's it going? I hope everything is well. :D
Fairlane,
My all around knife is a PE gray aluminum Salsa. I guess in a self defense situation, it'll be in a reverse grip. :D

Wouter,
Don't know, but don't think any law could stop me from owning it.
Regarding carry, we have a law saying that you're not allowed to carry a knife in public places, but that is only beiing used in bigger cities.
Anyway, i'd never carry any of my knifes openly. That would just aggravate and thats the last thing i want to do.
Do have my EDC in RP but it's only the clip showing and it dissappears under my jacket.
Thank you all for kind comments!

Aloha Fairlane!
Sorry, i just realized I called your Safekeeper a II instead of a I... :o BTW, is that one of the "newer" models or is it the TRUE AUS8 version?
God bless and be safe

there is an old chinese Kung Fu saying (comes from Chin Wu) and it goes something like this: In order to speak convincingly of peace, one must do this from a position of power...this is why every arm must be developed as a spear, every hand as a axe, every finger as a dagger, so that one may obtain the height of the mountain...Doc :D

I love it as well :) Have not seen the S&W, but it also sounds nice.LONE WOLF wrote:I love that Guardian. I have a S&W HRT Boot Knife (an exact copy of the Gerber MK1, but with a blood groove) Problem is, as of now, all my knives are dull. Not one is sharp, although I have made alot of progress with some 220 grit sandpaper on my sharpmaker.
I've used a Gerber MKII , and that is an excelent knife.
For keeping my knives sharp i have a lansky sharpening set with diamond sharpeners. Maybe you should try one of those?
I'm considering a lansky diamond system, or diamond stones for my sharpmaker. My current dillema is:
Lansky is harder to use with large and or oddly shaped knives
Sharpmaker diamond stones are not availabe X coarse.
I am really considering the lansky, but would like to know how well it holds large blades (I would buy the clamp base)

Have used the Lansky with sucsess on my CS Recon Tanto, even though it took one additional moving of the knife, and also on My Gerber BMF, same there, had to move the knife once to be able to sharpen the Whole length.LONE WOLF wrote:I'm considering a lansky diamond system, or diamond stones for my sharpmaker. But i've never tried any other system, there's probably better systems for big and oddly shaped knives.

i have always liked the look of the safekeeper I and II. Its too bad i never see them in Aus 8. My local Shop only has newer ones which are that Sub 420 somthing or other if im not mistaken. if i am, im sorry could someone enlighten me as to what the steel is that they use now. I remember that its not as good as Aus 8, but dont remember if it was 440 or sub 420 or aus 6. thanks
