Lets see the Work horses, knives put to the test of everyday.
Knives you worked with and took to far?

Carried every day, attacks mail to open, and cuts all sort of stuff. Think it is about 15 years young.
Re: Work Horse/Abused Spydercos
I should take a picture of my best friends Spyderco's, rode hard and put away wet with the rust spots to prove it.

Edit to add info:
Some sort of oldish Endura. I intentionally snapped the tip off while testing this one and then “repaired” it. The tip can’t be broken anymore. The scales would fail first.
I’ve sharpened the whole flat bevel on the other side a bit to somewhat maintain the chisel geometry of serrations. I think it used to lock, but no longer does. Operates like a slip joint and has a bit of play now.
Still cuts everything.

rex121 is the king of steel, but nature’s teeth have been cutting for hundreds of millions of years and counting
Re: Work Horse/Abused Spydercos
My go to's almost every single day!

Re: Work Horse/Abused Spydercos
Was gonna take a pic of my rex 45 para 3, which I’ve used as a can opener in a pinch, but can’t find it - gonna have to ask my gf about that!
So in its place, here are a few safe queens which you can tell I take very good care of and never use

Several patinas and reprofiles (a la Vivi) later, my M4 Manix2, the BBS exclusive, still lives in my truck to be near the dirty work I’ve asked it to perform over the years.

This Spydie is the first one (now one among many) I ever loved, and, being rare at the time, the first Spydie for which I got a pre-need replacement.
Whatever I’m pocketing, when I’m driving the truck this Spydie is usually in my hand because…well, you know.

Re: Work Horse/Abused Spydercos
One of the beautiful things about Spydercos is that they are high performance, but durable too, if they are used reasonably.
Re: Work Horse/Abused Spydercos
I've got a couple users.

Current EDC, a trashed Pacific 1 I picked up cheap on ebay. Reconditioned, installed a new clip, reprofiled it twice....currently my favorite knife.

Police 3. A knife I've sharpened so much the blade shape has changed. Has been a favorite of mine for a long time.

First run Pacific Salt. Been a fan since the early days. Tried adding an index choil and found it didn't make the design work any better, so I never repeated the mod. Pinned construction, square clip and dino jimping. Old school.

SE Pacific 1 that's seen some ****. When I bought it most the serration tips were broken off and the edge was 100% dull. Took some diamond rod love to bring it back, but now it's sharp and reliable.

PE Pacific 2. Bought it brand new and put a lot of miles on it over the past two years.

First run Tasman. Can't think of any time I've hesitated to use it. Dedicated grip tape knife for skateboards. Like cutting 100 grit sandpaper.
Some fixies:

Street Beat LW that saw a ton of use over the past three years. Stripped the coating after it got scratched up pretty bad, and really thinned out the edge. Sports a 300 grit apex and really chews up anything I throw at it.

Ronin 2 used for utility work. The edge has been chipped, rolled, and reprofiled twice. Great cutter.

Aqua Salt that's been a go to hiking / camping / kayaking / bushcrafting / road tripping knife / cardboard slayer for 10-15 years. Tied with one of my Pacifics as the last spydie I'd ever part with.

Carried this ATS-55 Endura for a long time.

Re: Work Horse/Abused Spydercos
I have my one 440V, full SE version of the GOLDEN, CO made NATIVE model which I use for really brutal, rough jobs I occasionally encounter. It truly blows me away at how much abuse I've given this older NATIVE model and it seems like it can endure the rigors of a World War or constant use in a harsh environment.
There have been two jobs I've used my old 440V Native on and I really thought that both of those jobs would destroy the older, full SE Spyderco NATIVE model. But like the old Timex watch commercial it just keeps on ticking. This is one of several big reasons that I have such an affinity for GOLDEN, CO USA Earth Spyderco models. And GOD knows how much abuse I've given my C-36 Military model with the M390 blade. I've given it almost as much abuse as I've given the older NATIVE model.

All of them. Every single one. I don’t have any rare spydies, or even any exclusives anymore I don’t think?
They all get used for whatever the task is at hand and they all see use in the shop at work.

Re: Work Horse/Abused Spydercos
I’ve got a fair mix of users, special occasion and special purpose knives but the one I consistently use with zero f***s given is my SE H1 Pacific Salt. That one goes in the harm’s way while my GB2 is relegated to dry-weather cardboard duty.
