Now that's a cool pair of knives.
Because desolate places allow us to breathe. And most people don't even know they're out of breath.

Man I like the way those scales have aged. I have a new set that I was going to put on my older Black DLC Manix. But then I couldn't help myself and ordered a black micarta set from the Ukraine on eBay. Those should be here in about a week, and I will have to compare the 2 at that time. I have a feeling that I'm going to end up getting another G10 Manix and install both sets, including Flytanium ball cages.Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 11:44 amI saw one last night and almost jumped on it . Edited to add that I had a heck of a time locating the Putman scales, and that's why I ordered the set from Ukraine. However, I had emailed Putman and he put me on his wait list. He emailed me about 2 weeks later that he had them in stock. Allen Putman was such a conscientious guy that I had to order. No disappointments whatsoever, I look forward to installing these scales.

i have the brown scales from ukraine on mine. they're good. i still want another manix with the putnam scales too. these don't seem to absorb oils like the putnam scales.olywa wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 3:32 pmMan I like the way those scales have aged. Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Thank you! Yes I agree, they have aged amazingly. When I first got them new back sometime in 2018 I think it was? I threw them on my 20CV Manix...I didn't like them, didn't like the look. I remember micarta was getting popular and I wanted to try it out. I'm definitely glad I stuck with them! Very unique looking, and feel great in hand. Especially being a Manix, one of those knives that if it works for you...it really works for you!olywa wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 3:32 pmMan I like the way those scales have aged. Today, I only left my house to do a few hours of yardwork, but not only did I not carry a Spyderco; I forgot to carry a knife at all!
I COULD HAVE come back in and grabbed one when I realized I'd forgotten, but I was too busy doing what I was doing to bother. I hadn't needed a knife for what I was doing, anyway.

I am trying so hard not to order one of those DLT exclusive PM2s, but they just look so fine.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
SPY27 Native 5 for a day on the river. I was carrying the 20cv Endura as a fishing knife for a while, but have switched to the linerless N5. I found a bit of corrosion starting on the Endura liners when I took it apart to check it out. That convinced me to go linerless. No salt water around, so I haven’t gone salt series yet.
