We sure did watch a lot of television when we were kids!
I never thought of it that way, but I guess you're right! Although it is interesting, because when I was a kid, all the neighborhood kids played outside for hours every day; almost all day on the weekends. And often again after dinner. Never a dull moment. How we still had the time to watch so much TV is beyond me. We watched a lot, but we also did a lot. It seemed like we did enough to cram into 48-hour days...

True. My days are so much shorter now.

I only liked this show for the old-fashioned train in the credits, and for the 3 girls. The town was called Hooterville. Also the setting for Green Acres, IIRC. I think the girls of Hooterville might have been my first "sort-of" crushes as a toddler.
Quisp vs Quake Cereal, Very First Commercial, 1965
Does anybody else remember Quisp and Quake cereals? I was fully on team Quisp. I preferred its blue box, and wanted a propeller hat so I could fly around like Quisp.
I doubt that anybody else here even remembers Freakies cereal. I had a couple boxes of it, and got a free "Boss Moss" T-shirt from sending in a couple box tops. Mostly just to get something free. The cereal itself wasn't anything special.
Depending on where you lived you might have been in the test area for new products. Few products got a wide release, usually to test markets and then on to regional roll outs. Or so I have read.

That's a good point.
I just Googled Freakies cereal and the years it was made, and it says it was produced from 1972 to 1976. I'd had the impression that it started in 1974 and was discontinued sometime in 1975. Huh. Ya learn something new every day.
There was a TV movie back in 1974 called Savages, starring Andy Griffith and Sam Bottoms. Andy Griffith was the villain, a lawyer out hunting in the desert, who accidentally kills someone thinking they're game, then decides to kill his guide (Sam Bottoms), the only witness. The movie is basically a cat and mouse pursuit through the desert. Andy Griffith played a good bad guy. I liked the movie a lot.
There is a full version of it posted on YouTube, but it has no sound, at least on my device. The only other sign of it on YouTube is a poorly-done movie review. That's why I haven't included a video of it here.

Thanks, Doc! Those were great. IMO, that original 1969 - 1970 Scooby-Doo was the only good Scooby-Doo cartoon. There were other Scooby-Doo shows later, but they weren't nearly as good. Some were awful. The only spin-off(?) I thought was fair was this one, from 1972:

My brother and I used to watch her when we lived in Southern California. He even named one of our cats after her. I could have sworn her name was Kelly the Clown, but that must be confusion in my mind with Emmett Kelly.
I remember Hobo Kelly when I lived in Anaheim when I was a kid back in the seventies.
I also remember watching the Billy Barty show during the day but I can’t find any video specifically about his show. Maybe I am misrembering. He made some sort of appearance at New Port Dunes one day when I was out there.
