A corrections officer's point of view

"I work in a prison. I see Evil every day. My last prison was a lockdown supermax, where Evil was naked and violent, right out in front. Now I work in a sex offender yard, where Evil wears a polite face, and warm smile.....
And people wonder why I carry a gun. Evil gets out on parole next Tuesday..."

Hey Dr...

Whoa! How true this CO's answer is! Unfortunately, Hawaii will *never* see CCW...

What was it that Merlin (The wizard, not your latest :spyder: ! :p ) told Arthur at the round table? "Good and evil, you cannot have one without the other." (From the movie Excalibur)

God bless and thanks for reminding me!

Inspired answer, thanks for sharing.

Very insightful. Very true.
Often, at work, after witnessing the idiotic antics of some of the inmates, I'll turn to the person next to me (staff or inmate, doesn't matter) and say, "And people ask me why I carry a gun". It always elicits a chuckle and a nod.

Some even think I'm kidding when I say it. Those who know me well know that I'm not.
