I have three LB Salts. I carry a standard serrated in my pocket everyday. I have a hawkbill in my pajamas in case of a hospital trip, but may change that to the other standard. More practical. However, that hawkbill is an awesome little chainsaw within its parameters.

I think what's going on is that the ziptie is on the blade as a kind of tongue-in-cheek joke about people who use zip ties as a jury-rigged Wave mod on blades that don't come with a wave opener from the factory. It's functionally unnecessary on either a fixed blade or auto.

that's what i figured, but you can't even sheath the ark that way. that's some serious dedication to a joke. haha

Well as a quick update, I ended up going with the Ladybug Salt SE, standard blade shape.

I've only had it a couple of days, but like it pretty well so far. It's a bit small of course, but the ergonomics are very good. I like that the blade is almost the same as the Dragonfly, but it has a noticeably smaller footprint in the pocket.

I can certainly see adding a hawkbill, we'll see...

Thanks again!

Jason, you mean you bought the standard blade first...
I bought my Hawkbill Lb as my 2nd Spyder and I still dig it. **** my ladybug won me a Byrd knife from a picture contest. If I can find it I'll add it.

Evil D that's so tactical! Glad I found this in a ladybug post.

I wish I had bought a GITD Ladybug when I had the chance.

It's a cool knife, but being carried in a pocket, the lume wouldn't really charge much.

I EDC a nitecore TIP, you can charge GIT stuff in about 3 seconds with it.

On a related note, I don't think it gets said often enough that the GITD material Spyderco uses is of the highest quality. It's not like toy gitd stuff. It charges very bright and after that initial brightness dies down after several minutes it stays bright enough to be visible all night. If you charge the knife with your keychain light before bed and put it on your night stand it'll still be glowing at 4am.

For quality comparison the lanyard I have on mine is also glow in the dark. Note the difference in quality between the lanyard and FRN's glow.

That’s really cool thanks for sharing. Had always shrugged off the GITD as being on par with my girls’ toys. Should have known better…

Yeah that GITD they use pops really fast. A quick shot of UV in the afternoon and it's got a visible pop.
