Very first use of this beauty: broccoli, habeneros, carrots.

First use?? Considering that was a sprint run in 2016, that’s very cool!! Did you have it put away and decided to use it or did you pick it up somewhere? Either way, that’s an awesome Millie. It’s one of my favorites. The carbon fiber scales definitely take it up a notch in my opinion and I like the 52100 steel. I carried the same one most of last week. Enjoy that knife. 👍
I picked it up recently. I had an early Millie, ATS-34, that was my favorite knife until I lost it in a move several years ago. I replaced it late last year, finally, with a current blacked-out S30V model, and thought I was done. Then this one showed up, 52100 and CF, NOS, at a low enough price that I couldn't resist it. I'm rotating a bunch of Spydies through food prep, and today was its turn. It started developing a patina about 30 seconds into slicing up a pepper!
Very nice! Yes, 52100 will patina very quickly and easily. If you get a chance, post more pics as your patina comes along.

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Thank you!

I regret not getting a serrated ARK while they were available. I hope the company releases another run in the future.

(for whatever reason, my way old dell notebook is letting me see everyones photos again, after months of not)

Very Nice!
Still plenty "stabby" (lol, that term always makes me laugh), while having a more robust tip than straightening it all the way out...

Did you loose any blade length?

Guess it’s not technically a Spyderco… or is it? 🤔

It's Spyderco, as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure there are reasons for the Byrd name, but they're designed by Spyderco, made in China... just like the other value line Spydercos...

I also have my Hawkbill with me today 🙂

i can picture this little house perfectly. we had the same one in our yard in texas. had to throw it out because it ended up being a house for black widows only. every time we went out to let the kids play in it, i'd have to spray the spiders. by the time it was safe for them to play in it again, more black widows. i hope you and your kids have had better luck with it. haha

Nope, exact same blade length. Wanted a slightly pointier tip on this Pacific but I didn't want to strip all the coating off the spine by doing by usual skinny tip mod.

i find the pac salt to still be plenty "stabby" but i suppose i understand wanting a more acute tip in some applications. that's part of the draw of the h1 version for me though. i like the more robust blade and slightly rounded tip.

My (H1) Pac Salt often serves as a "do it all" tool, more than any of my other folders. So digging, prying, stabbing ... is among the tasks I use it for, and so particularly on this knife I especially like the more robust, sheepsfooty "orgininal" tip.

But if I ever get an H1 Pac Salt in plain edge,I´ll probably try what you did here, Vivi (not with an SE tip though, I think)

Thanks! - I liked the contrast of the almost 200 years old wooden door to the very "modern" style of the Pac Salt (I love FRN, but especially in yellow it has not much of an "oldschool" touch to it.. ;) )
