I had the same problem with one of my stainless ones. I ended up using a thin cut off disc to slot the heads of each screw for a straight head and then used a bigger screw driver to force them out. The phillips was just stripping on me.
Sears or Lowes has the cut off discs. Get the thinnest ones and a variable speed dremmel is best for control. Oh and wear safety glasses.

Yeah. Fun. Same problem here. :)
What I think is more fun is trying to hold a Delica sandwiched between 2 different screwdrivers at the same time to get the clip off of it. The fact that the slots are not that deep and are way too wide really help a lot too :D . They must expect me to get that clip off with a couple of nickels or some special tool that I don't have.

Have you tried nickles, or even quarters. If you look at the slots on the nuts, you notice the slope inward, maybe even concave. I think they are made for coins, not screwdrivers. Old model 35mm SLR cameras were like that with thier battery compartments. I use nickles, and they seem to work much better than any screwdriver I tried. All this I am assuming your talking about the barrel bolt style clip. If so, give the coins a try, they should do a better job.

First they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not stand up, because I was not a Trade Unionist.

On "all metal" models, it often helps to heat each screw a bit with a soldering iron before trying to unscrew it to soften the locktite.

Yeah, what he said, nickels are perfect, almost obviously what was designed to be used on those screws.

Doesn't it seem odd that heat would be required to move the clip on an SS model?
What is a "non-knife nut" supposed to do? I mean that's OK for us folks but I seriously doubt that "they" would know that.
Also, thanks for the info about using a nickle. It doesn't seem that I can get it tight enough with nickles though that's why I use screwdrivers. If I use a nickle I can move the clip left to right and I figure it has more of a chance of trying to turn around and ruin the FRN.
That barrel nut/bolt is really not a good way to do things after having dealt with them on my Delica. I would rather just have the molded FRN clip now. :)
