Still the Chief. S90v yesterday Rex45 today

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
I just picked up a Caribbean PE leaf blade out of the mailbox this afternoon. I held off for a couple years because I was not too keen on the yellow. 30 min with an old pot and some Sapphire Blue RIT dye and it is perfect. I never tried that before, but the RIT dye thread convinced me to get the knife.
I love this knife! the Ti clip and blue looks perfect and the fit and finish were flawless. The bevel was amazing: straight and even and nearly the sharpest knife I have ever had out of the box. It is perfectly centered and solid as a tank. The texture/grooves drags a bit coming out of my pocket, but it feels great in the hand. I can see why people love this blade. I've been loving my Chief lately, but it will be hard to leave this one behind. my favorite day is new Spydie day.

I'd be in for a foliage green Native LW in CTS-204P. I hope Knifeworks is listening :)
Spydiechef for today.

Turned out beautiful! I love how the salt knives look dyed green like this!

SE Pacific 1 again today. Feel bad not carrying the Stretch XL in so long but I've really enjoyed going back to the first gen Pacific the last week. No disrespect towards gen 2, I still love them too.
May you find peace in this life and the next.

Do you guys just dye the yellow scales to the green RIT color? I really want to do this to my Magnacut Native Salt when it shipsvivi wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 8:16 pmTurned out beautiful! I love how the salt knives look dyed green like this!

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Hope you´ll do your SE vs PE comparison, when you find time and if you like... ideally with factory edge vs factory edge, but even more so with "(PE) Vivi edge vs rounded SE"...

Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Only the K390 ladybug today, have it paired with my Williams prototype folder. My first foray into K390 and I’m liking the very keen edge it takes. I’m typically not a fan of lanyards on my knives but the one I made for the ladybug really helps to give just enough real estate for my ring and pinky fingers, and improves the feel a lot. Although the Williams isn’t a spring assisted flipper, the action is so smooth even the slightest push is enough to have the blade ready to. Love the way it feels in hand too!

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Question for you RIT dye guys. Does the dye eventually wear off, or is it good for the long run?
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
My RIT Dye job on FRN has not shown signs of wear. I haven't had it for years and years. It is not like a paint job. It sets into the material. A light scratch just lightens it. A chip would probably show the original color. The good thing is, if it wears a lot(I don't think it will) you can easily dye it again.

I read there are two different types of RIT dye which one do you suggest ? Does one hold up better than the Other ? I would like to try it in the future . Thanks, DanJSumm wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 8:04 amMy RIT Dye job on FRN has not shown signs of wear. I haven't had it for years and years. It is not like a paint job. It sets into the material. I believe the Synthetic blend is best for plastics. However, I can never find any in stock and have only used the regular version. It seems to hold up just fine. Never had an issue with it.Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 8:09 amI read there are two different types of RIT dye which one do you suggest ? Does one hold up better than the Other ?
