Dan, my Heels have never lost in the Big Easy
We're 4-0 better than anyone else in New Orleans
We won it all there in '82 & '93
I gotta hope the Big Easy still has a thing for us
That’s good omen ! Let’s stick with it go Heels ! Curbelo at Illinois is going portal . Guess Underwood hurt his feelings . If they pick up the guards they are contending for and Kofi stays on board next year mat be promising. They also have another bigs possibly. Got my. Fingers crossed. Dan
Yall had a freakin TREMENDOUS team in 04-05
I really didn't think we would beat yall in the National Championship. Play that game 5 times, yall come out on top.

We have had some great teams. I trust Underwood , he does some good recruiting. We have some players with potential and the portal may give us a boost . Injuries and sickness set us back . I do think there may have been some locker room drama from what I have been hearing locally surrounding Curbelo.

Man......this is surreal.......like a dream....I'm in shock yet again!! This is the most overachiever group of Tar Heels EVER. .......I have NEVER witnessed anything like this.......multiple times this season we lost by more than 20 points and wondered if we would even get invited to the dam NIT Tournament lol......and now we have handed Mike Krzyzewski not only his last home game loss but, also his last NCAA Tourney defeat!
Now, Kansas may very well smoke our asses come Monday night but, and I can't believe I'm saying this, that even if Kanas lays the hammer down on us and wins big, I and many other Heels will still feel good believe it or not!!
This has been the craziest season ever for Carolina Basketball......all that being said, it will never be the same without Mike Krzyzewski, but I'll always be happy that we showed him the door 😎

I think game lived up to hype and was one of the most thrilling games in a long time . I would not count UNC out as long as they don’t get into foul trouble they can play with Kansas . UNC definitely needs to slow tempo down to beat Kansas , they have a deeper bench . UNC can’t run out of gas in second half and not give up turnovers .

Thanks Dan!
I have really no idea how Kansas is this year.
I do feel though like the Villanova game is misleading.
No disrespect to the Jayhawks. It's just that Nova lost one of their starters and have no bench from I understand. Had Nova been full strength I think it would've been much closer.
I also think you nailed it bro. We're gonna have to keep Kansas on a leash like did Duke. When Duke pulled out to an 8 point lead last night, I was worried they were gonna bust it wide open. But, I was incredibly impressed and proud of Carolina going on that 11-0 run. That saved us. No 11-0 run, no win, imho.
I also, like you, feel we have a chance to defeat Kansas and win it all. I can promise ya it's hard enough to beat Duke once in the season and dam near impossible to do it twice in a row. Yeah, these boys have more horsepower than I thought. A lot more.
I dunno, it's so hard to tell. It just boils down to what you said Dan. Slow the tempo down and don't get gassed and start making turnovers. But, I like our chances there. Usually a Carolina team - at least while under Roy Williams - are the last team in the country that any team would want to run with all night. Those teams were always in incredible conditioning. It was always hammer down up and down the floor as fast as you can go the whole game. Lol, I think I'm trying to convince myself we have a legit shot to beat Kansas.

I’m serious when I say UNC has a chance , both teams can run, the bench on either team is going to be a big factor . UNC to win has to stay out of foul trouble . Dan

Oh, I know Dan. I believe ya man.
I just hope we can do it bro. Not run outta gas and stay out of foul trouble. Not let Kansas get on a big run either. Slow the tempo down like ya said.
Could wind up being a great game...
And.....the Big Easy still favors us.....we've yet to lose in The Big Easy. Dang.....I hope we stay perfect in the Super Dome...

Early. the evening spread is Kansas by 4 points over UNC . Some writer that covers Kansas thinks that the only thing UNC has been thinking about has been beating Duke and won’t be prepared for tomorrow’s game . He really fired me up .

Oh wow, really?!?!
Well, maybe one could also consider that North Carolina is battle hardened with the wins they've had in the Tourney and that cake walk of a win over a 90%Nova team won't cut it against Carolina?
I'm really hoping that's the case, Dan.
Btw, thanks for chats man, it's been really fun.

I'm just beyond sick, Dan.
Especially considering we were up by 15 points at the half man. Worse thing is, you never know when you'll go back, if ever.....those National Championship's are so very incredibly hard to win.

Sorry Paul . UNC looked unstoppable by halftime. Tempo seemed to flip beginning of third quarter, and UNC shooting percentage and defense gave Kansas a way back into the game . Free throw line percentage made the difference in the game along with the defensive rebounds UNC gave up to Kansas . I can see UNC make another deep run next year , great team . Dan

Yeah, last night hurt! And before I blast Carolina I've been a Tarheel fan since before the Phil Ford days, and my wife is a graduate from Chapel Hill.

The 2nd half was just terrible, no other way to describe it! Kansas looked and played like a team with a game plan, Carolina looked clueless and had that look in their eyes like their back was against the ropes! A huge momentum swing was the charge call against Manek at the start of the 2nd half that resulted in a 3 point play, it was a terrible call that started a downward spiral.

Best team won, difference in a true #1 vs. a #8 seed! Kansas was bigger, faster, and just more athletic & talented! It was Carolina's game to lose.....and they did! Great tournament run though, I'll give them that!
