Replacement Sheath For Spot

#1

Post by spinynorman »

I recently acquired a Spot in the G10 / VG-10 configuration, without a sheath...

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to get a replacement sheath, if possible?

I wrote a note to Spyderco CS through the website, but have not gotten a reply. I figured that they're backlogged with requests, or they simply don't have replacement sheaths, and I haven't gotten around to trying CS by phone.

No biggie, but a sheath would make carrying it a whole lot easier. ;)

Dear Spinynorman:

The SPOT was discontinued many years ago, so the odds of Customer Service having a replacement laying around are nil. Your best bet would be to commission someone who does custom Kydex work to make one for you. If you're the handy type, you could also try rolling your own.

Stay safe,

Mike

Perhaps Spyderco's maker of Boltaron sheaths, especially as they may have the tension adjusting bolt.

I have 2 SPOTs, one plain, one serrated, purchased at a Seconds Sale years ago. I was told at that time they were all being sold as seconds because there were no sheaths for them. There were several trays of them at that sale.

Aha! That explains it all - my Spot has the tiny notch that indicates a factory second, but I couldn't find a defect with the knife in any way.

Thanks, Doug
