We have a Forum at least one Forum member from Ukraine . My prayers and heart go out to his family and himself and anyone else effected by this tragedy. MG2
I've thought about this as well, but didn't want to bring anything up as it's obviously a very touchy subject. I know of 2 members, and understandably haven't seen them around this past week...I hope they are safe.

Speaking of the war, aren’t the Gritomatic/Hapstone guys Ukrainian? Hope they do ok through all of this.
Hapstone Sharpeners is based in Sumy, Ukraine. Its factory has been damaged in Russian helicopter attacks, according to a Facebook statement by the Russian/Ukrainian owner of Gripomatic in (the US state of) Georgia.
If google maps and the current battle line maps on BBC and AlJazeera are also correct, Sumy should now be behind the line of the Russian advance, so hopefully they will avoid further active fighting.

I get your point, but, from what I’ve been reading, I imagine Sumy’s residents would rather be still in the fight, and perhaps they will be, in the night…

The folks from Mad Edge sharpening system are near Sumy too. I can't imagine what it must be like to go from one day building your own business riding a bike to work, having coffee and seeing something you conceived starting to grow...and a few days later being in the middle of a war.

Just read that statement. I think I should probably buy myself a Hapstone sharpener.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

I’ve been thinking the same thing.

That's great news! I am glad you got them.

Do you mind telling me when you placed the order and any details you got from tracking.

I ordered some CF PM2 scales on 02/15 that shipped on 02/16. Tracking says: "Package left the carrier facility.
MOSKVA PCI-21, RUSSIAN FEDERATION" on Feb 20 and Feb 25 (the same message two different dates).

I also ordered CF Para3 scales on 02/20. Tracking says: "Your item has been processed through a facility in MOSKVA PCI-21, RUSSIAN FEDERATION at 3:29 am on February 25, 2022."

Wondering if mine will make it, but kinda doubt it. I'd appreciate any details you can share. Thanks!

Dferg, are you getting that tracking information from the Russian Post Office? Or?

I haven't been able to get any tracking info from the Russian postal service, and I was sort of assuming that my inability to access their site was related to the current sanctions.

Tom the Russian tracking link never worked for me from day one. I am using the USPS tracking.

Aramis seems like a stand-up guy. My heart goes out to the civilians on both sides and all the people of Ukraine. I hope he doesn't take too big of a hit as a result of this. I'd love to be able to buy his work again at a future date, post-conflict obviously.

Update: USPS left me a delivery notice today, so I'll go by the post office tomorrow morning and hopefully pick these up.

I also saw that Sumy had a humanitarian evacuation corridor, so hopefully that helped the guys there.

Great news for me too! I went on vacation last week and when I got home today i found the first of two packages from Aramis in my mailbox- the PM2 CF scales mailed on Feb 16.

ETA: I forgot to mention since I figured they probably would not arrive, I bought a new PM2 in CPM-M4 DLC with the same Aramis Grand Classic CF scales off of the bay. It arrived while I was gone too and is in perfect shape- so now I will have 2.
