International Tracking Question - Delivered?

#1

Post by Dextar »

Hi there,

I made a purchase on Spyderco online, it's going to be shipped to Canada.
However, after inputting my tracking number on USPS, it's said it's been Delivered to Los Angeles, AND the tracking number is US Domestic, not International.

I sent an email to the Spyderco support, the crew replied that "international packages are sent from Golden CO to Los Angeles where they are sorted and shipped to their next destination. This is not their final stop"
However, in the USPS tracking website, it's said it's Delivered, which means it's been finished, there will be NO status update any more on this tracking number.

Do you have similar experience and how I can track the actual status of my parcel?
Please share or advise.

Thanks.

Watching and international shipping via USPS is like a good thriller TV series. You never know what is coming next. I have received several Items shipped via USPS to Europe and some of them went through more than 10 locations before they left US. But - ALL of them arrived eventually :)

Nice example of customer service. Kristi, looking in to it and all.

I'm in Canada too. North. Shipping is not delayed for me until it is over 3 weeks. Even then, a month is not weird. Also, most of my packages are not trackable after they cross the boarder.

Have you plugged your tracking number into Canada Post? I would read your message as USPS completing their side of the delivery, to customs in LA. Once it has cleared and arrived in Canada it might pop up on Canada Post tracking.

I have ordered from the USA to NZ, and the parcels travelled to Beijing China, Sydney OZ, Auckland NZ, then China again, and then to me in Christchurch...

Panic not!

Thanks for this tip! I've never known the Canada Post is the one after package arriving Canada. Will try!

Now I understand why the replied email said: "You package can take anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months to get to you."...

I've had a package that was recently sent to a wrong address in China rather than my address in Europe. it was eventually returned to Spyderco, and made its way to the right address - but it was quite the ordeal.

The weird thing is that when I was given the tracking code, it showed that the package had been delivered to China at a date prior to when I had made the purchase. So I I thought I had been been given an expired tracking code. But it turns out that the package had been sent there all along. It was a confusing situation that took a few calls and emails to sort out.

I wanted to share this experience to say that unfortunately things can go wrong in the shipping process. Thankfully this was the first time for me, despite having many packages from spyderco and others shipped my way.

Thanks for sharing the experience.
To my case, the Spyderco forum admin provides very helpful support, with a correct tracking number of my parcel.
Now I can see it's still on the way. Hopefully I can receive it in the next week ;)
