Wharncliffe in DLC

#1

Post by islandpar »

Is there a chance that there will be Wharncliffe blades in DLC (preferably 20CV steel but other steels are good as well)? As far as my limited knowledge goes, I've seen only the manbug, Yojimbo 2 and Yojumbo that have DLC coating. Would love to have one in PM2, Endela and Delica models.

Just a thought...

Dear islandpar:

Our Japanese-made knives are actually TiCN coated, so the Manbug is not DLC, nor would an Endela or Delica be. The Wharncliffe PM2 was only made as an Exclusive for Cutlery Shoppe https://cutleryshoppe.com/spyderco-c81g ... -sold-out/. Maybe petition them to do a DLC version...

Stay safe,

I'd certainly like to see that happen.
I missed that one when it came out and I'd like a coated blade version.

I'd love a PM2 wharncliffe that's production, these exclusives are amazing but frustrating that I can't get any in Canada without a risk of seizure.

You probably won't get a Delica or Endura with DLC coating since they come form Japan. They use a different type of coating that involves TiCN.

I'd go with one of the XHP Cutlery Shoppe exclusives posted above. XHP is awesome, I'd take it over 20CV any day but that's preference.

This was a necropost from over a year ago and may no longer be relevant. The OP probably has what they want by now.
