The knife that should have been a Spydie!!

#1

Post by Simon G »

I feel a little bit guilty at the moment! I do and have owned several brands of folders. However, I've been thinning out the "others" in order to satisfy the Spydie bug.

There are a couple that are about to be sent as gifts and the rest are destined for evilbay. Those that are hardest to put up are the Benchmade. I know, tantamount to blasphemy, however. these butterflies have to be turned into Spiders!

This is the first time they have been out of the locker for some time so the can be photographed. So I get to handling them again. One particular one strikes me. The Mini AFCK! The proper one, with a round hole and no axis lock! ATS 34 PE, G10, liner lock and it sits in the hand so nice!..........Oh how I wish that medalion on the handle was a :spyder:

Hey SimonG!

I agree somewhat. I handled the AFCK series a long time ago and they were "okay". I prefered what was known as the Eclipse model BM with the Hole, the name later changed to the Ascent. I liked these better, and they were more or less identical to the AFCKs. Why these better?

They were FRN! :D Sorry, I know I just made your tummy turn.

God bless and 360IJN always,

i had a spyder-holed mini ascent once. the clip was screwed in very close to the end and i guess it didnt have enough strength there...it broke. so i sent the knife in and got back an oval holed one. blech, i hate the way the hole is chamfered, it doesnt open worth a flip.
