No Rick, I will not look at it. I have a short list and your pictures already have me going in a different path.
Now militaries?

I guess I should move the rest of my collection along because the blue PITS is getting all the carry time.

Nice pic! The more I look at the Military, the more I think it may have better ergos than the PM2. Not that the PM2 is bad by any means, but the more minimal finger choil looks like a winner.

Nice picture! The guy packing out the caribou in the background makes me appreciate how fat we've come with technology! His old pack frame makes my mystery ranch look like a Cadillac!

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Funny you say that. While working out last night, in between sets I was actually making that same comparison. Handling them back and forth. When not choking up, I find the Military handle more comfortable for my hand. But, when choking up I found the PM2 more comfortable. I think some of that has to do with me having kind of smaller hands (M-L) gloves. When choking up on the Military it feels like I've got a lot hanging off the back from my hand making control a bit different. I'll get used to it again though, this is going to be a top 5 carry knife for me from here on out.
For the past 6 months or so I've been thinking about how big the Native Chief is. The Military dwarfs it with the handle, but to my surprise the blade length and width on both are actually very similar. Safe to say with 2 Chiefs and Military, my extra large knives needs have been met!

I highly recommend you get a military. Been carrying this almost daily since June of 2021.
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Hey Woodpuppy, this is a hard old eucalypt stump probably cut in the 1950s or earlier. I guess that is the opposite of fat wood. The very hard timbers here in Australia and the warm climate make bushcraft a very different affair than the USA or northern Europe. The stump is tallow wood which has twice the density of English oak.
