translation request, any and all.

#1

Post by vampyrewolf »

ok, gave my notice on tuesday morning at work... time to screw with thier minds.

today I wrote my timecard backwards. Have until the 2nd to screw around now.

I'd like to get my "usual" set of lines translated into any dialects I can, and see how many they can figure out.

1: assist todd[partner's name]/cutter/upstairs
2: coffee
3: lunch
4: clean area
5: sweep shipping/outside/extention
6: pick up garbage
7: cut gusset/scrap/squares
8: sort scrap
9: floorwork/folding
10: how easy was this one to figure out?
11: wasting time

Hopefully I can get 8 different dialects to go with... thanks for any and all help with my boredom relief.

Just me personally...

I wouldn't just screw off now because you're quitting. I would work my last 2-3 weeks doing the best job I can.

in French:

1: seconder todd/cutter/à l'étage
2: café
3: repas
4: endroit propre
5: ???/dehors/extension
6: ramasser les ordures
7: couper un gousset/bout/carrés
8: trier les bouts
9: ???/pliant
10: est-ce que ce fût facile à deviner ?
11: perdre du temps

honestly I'm not sure it's 100% accurate cause I had to look in my dictionnary for some of them and tried to guess the right translation among several possible... :)

In German:

1: Hilfe für Todd / für den Zuschneider / im oberen Stockwerk
2: Kaffee
3: Mittagessen
4: Säubern des Geländes
5: Versandabteilung / Draußen / Extention ( ) fegen
6: Müll einsammeln
7: Zwickel / Abfall / Quadrate schneiden
8: Abfall sortieren
9: Bodenarbeit ( ) / falten
10: Wie schwierig war es, das herauszufinden?
11: Zeitverschwendung

I had the same problem as Senate. Most English words have several meanings in German and usually you'll get the right meaning from the context. If the cutter is a person then 1 should be right.

Have fun!

5: podat zasielku/vonku/rozsah (?)
6: pozbierat smetie
7: zrezat klin/odpad/stvorce, namestia
8: triedit odpad
9: prace na zemi/skladaci, zatvaraci
10: Ake tazke bolo toto zistit?
11: stracat cas

What is this all about?

HoB, thanks! So it should be "extension"? I thought it might have something to do with "extent" but was not sure in which context and couldn't find "extention" in the dictionary  If it is "extension" than "Verlängerung" is right.

Cheers, Rob
