No hate. Always like to see this knife, and even more so in such a nice pic!
... perhaps my beloved REX 45 Manix 2 LW "hates" the pic though out of jealousy... for your XHP variant is the only Manix version (regardless if FRCP or G10) that could be a real challenger for it...
Top three going by pocket-time (update April 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10), Chaparral SE (CTS XHP)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Endela SE (K390)

Don't say that too loudly. SPY27 can hear you.

I’m so ready to get back out on the ice but the weather has been so mild this year in New England, I would have to drive at least 2 hours north to find some safe ice.

It's been a super mild winter here as well. This is my first time out this winter. The ice has been good enough to walk out or even get a wheeler out on most lakes. I just haven't had the time to get out and fish until today.

I'm shocked that we don't have any ice here in Syracuse and local areas. Some of my friends are huge ice fisherman and have said on these same dates a few years back, there was 4-6 inches of ice on Oneida Lake where there are typically large fishing tournaments.
The Baby Jess Horn sprint has been on my 'to check out' list for a while. A little bit ago i bought one at retail, NIB. It is a fantastic sample. I had some hesitation based on complaints about the build of these and other problems with Moki in that era-- which were all for naught.
This knife is excellent. Build is great. The grind is excellent. I haven't measured it BTE yet, but if it isn't thinner than my .014-.015 edges i would be surprised. I really like it as a waypoint between my traditional and modern knives. I had to ditch the clip and find the knife much better without it. I know the pocket clip is Spyderco bread and butter but don't want one on every knife.
You inspired me. I dug it out and it’s going in the pocket. I bought one of these with the intent to use and see what Maxamet was about and it’s just been sitting.

My apologies to SPY27 - we never met each other so far...
But this is not only about the steels, but also about the looks - and I think the brown handle of the XHP Manix LW does look great, even better than the burnt orange one of my variant (yes, I am one of those who definitely really likes burnt orange!).
