I love when I realize that I just replied to a necro thread. I love it even more when I realize it is a necro thread that I had already responded to when it was alive. :cheap-sunglasses

S30v and LC200N feel the same to me, both are quite easy to sharpen and strop up well too. The only thing I dont like is that LC200N scratches very easily, but other than that I like it.

Is it the steel or the finish that scratches? My Lc200n and 20cv knife showed scratches after a month or so. The thing that they both have in common is the mirror polished finish. My s30v manix has scratches but they are obscured by the stonewash/satin finish. You have to catch it in the right light to see them.
Just one more knife...

It might "feel" the same, but these aren't really in the same class if I recall Larrin's test results correctly. In edge holding, LC is below vg-10 and even further below s30v.

I am still in the camp of not really loving LC200N at this time. I bought Salt 2's in SE and PE LC200N to give them a shot, we'll see after some use. I have always been happy with H1 in SE. I would still love to see Larrin test H1 and LC200N head to head in both configurations.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

I don't think many folks would consider LC200N and S30V as being similar...S30V has good edge-holding stats.

i felt like they were pretty similar in my initial usage. after a couple of months, i realized that lc200n had a little less retention, but touched up easier. still a great steel, but not quite equal to s30v in edge retention.
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.
