Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
Vivi, you know me and the fact that I have a weak spot for the Native Chief. I've carried one every day since I received them.
My 2nd choice would be the Yojumbo.

Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
Dang, ya can 't vote for more than one...
Of the ones you've listed, I only have, and have even seen in person and/or owned/carried, three of them. 1) H1 PacSalt 2) Military 3) Native Chief
Of those three, I easily pick two, the PacSalt & the Military. I like them BOTH VERY Much, for different reasons. I will speculate you also.
The Military is super comfortable in hand, in use, and just so much so well.
The PacSalt is lighter, and corrosion proof...
I don't prefer the ergo's of the Native Chief, but ya gotta get one to find out, lol. I'll keep it, carry it, and use it, but...
I've heard the Police is pretty nice, but have never handled, carried, or owned one. I'll grab one at some point though no doubt.

Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
While I mostly carry smaller knives, I do like some of the larger options now and then. For me, the Police 4 is what I would go with, there is just something special about the slim profile of the police and blade length - always has been.
The military would most likely be my second choice, but that pac salt would be right there with it.

K390 P4. Not sure I've enjoyed cutting with any knife more than I enjoy that one.

Nice selection! I am a Manix guy, so I'll take the XL.

P4, just for the irony when they lock me up for carrying it!

I’d grab the P4 because those scales of yours are beautiful, and I have no experience with that model.
I’ve got a Pac Salt SE in my pocket today; it’s my default EDC carry.

Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
Perhaps you know this anyway, but if not: It's easy to get a Police 4 with these scales. It's the Pakkawood / HAP40 variant in which I think DFly, Delica, Endela, Endura and Police come. Police for about 220 USD I think.TheGiant80 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 2:09 pmI’d grab the P4 because those scales of yours are beautiful, and I have no experience with that model.
....
(Vivi must have done a bladeswap of course since his knife has not an HAP40 blade).
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
Given I can only choose one has to be the Pac Salt due to balance of backlock, corrosion resistance, weight, ergos and tough steel. Had you said k390 endura, or s90v Military those would have trumped the Pac Salt. I find the P4 just a hair big for the civilized world althoughI own a G10 version
FWIW, I'm currently carrying the KJ 20CV Endura which is rating favorably.

Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
Definitely the M4 Chief. The K390 police is a close second and maybe first on some days I didn't mind the scales. There are none I wouldn't carry.
Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
I chose the DLC Military.
The Yojumbo’s scales are too rough (from what I’ve heard) for what I’d want to carry, and the Chief is in a tool steel. Otherwise, I would have chosen one of them instead.

Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
I chose the manix xl. In my top 3 of favorite spyderco models. "STOUT" is the perfect word to describe it. Very capable knife. I love mine and really hope we get a reg production steel upgrade for it. S110v, s45v, zwear/cruwear. Im not too fussy. Just something different.
Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
For me, it’s a tossup between the pakkawood Police for slender elegance and the Manix XL for the great grip.
Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
Been fun reading the replies!
The Chief carries really well for having the same cutting edge as a Military. Very compact and light.
Your statement about the Pacific Salt is spot on. Not as interesting as a pakkawood & k390, or m4 & micarta, but being so light and maintenance free means it sees a lot of pocket time.
Compared to the others, excluding the Pacific Salt, it really impressed me with its size to weight ratio. Really comfortable ergonomics for me. That straight spine makes choking up in the choil feel a lot better than the Police or Millie.Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 10:18 pmGreat rotation , the only one I don’t carry or have is the Native Chief . I hope to correct that absence in the near future . MG2
I could see you really liking the Chief. Good edge to length ratio, folds up to be pretty compact, and since you like the Native the blade shape and ergonomics should be a good fit.Wartstein wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 10:45 pmI am assuming you mean which one I´d carry if I knew and had each of the six knives (because otherwise I´d take for that day a model I am new to of course in order to try it out).
Immediately clear that it would be the Chief or the Pac Salt, but not easy to decide between those two.
It's a nice problem to have! While typically I simply grab a Pacific Salt for work and carry my DLC Yojumbo otherwise, some days I take a look through my collection and pick something different.aicolainen wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 3:49 amFirst of all, that's a nice bunch to chose from. You've set your self up for some though decisions
The Native Chief carries pretty well. I took it grouse hunting for a week in the mountains and it never bothered me in any way. Mind you there were no social or legal aspects to consider up in the mountains, and besides hunting pants are also more forgiving than slim fitting office jeans, so I could just stash it in my back pocket and forget about it.
In a more urban / everyday setting, I would probably have to go with the Pac Salt carried IWB. Both from a comfort perspective as well as moisture / maintenance POV, it seems to be the the better option, so that's what I voted. The Pac salt, while not the most interesting of the bunch, is the more versatile knife (IMO) that would work in almost any setting I'm likely to carry a knife.

I guess my selection isn't the best for people with restrictive knife laws.Matus wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 1:12 pmThat’s the spirit!ChrisinHove wrote: ↑Mon Nov 01, 2021 12:57 pmP4, just for the irony when they lock me up for carrying it!![]()

For some reason I wasn't wild about the rough G10 on the Siren, but I feel like it works well for this model. It's something I wouldn't want for certain situations though....I feel like it'd tear up slacks pretty fast.
Can't beat the XL when it comes to grip security....really locks your hand in place for tough jobs.

Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
The Native Chief really appeals to me . I like how deeply nested the blade fits into the scale , seems like it would ride nicely in pocket . I have a show to go to this weekend and hope to handle one in person . Very nice line up of knives . Regards MG2

Re: Which of my knives would you carry?
I would like to carry the Yojumbo. I do not have any real self defense knives and very few knives that are not drop point. Yojumbo is not a knife I would buy, but I sure would test drive it for as long as I could.
