I love OLN in July :D
The coverage has changed a little from 8 years ago. Used to be you'd get a little 1/2 hour synopsis on ESPN daily then a whole hour on the final Saturday on network TV.
I worry that Lance's retirement will result in crappy coverage again. Young Americans like Zabriskie may sustain viewership. I can only hope. :)
I think the "sport of kings" is horse racing.

hi Worker,
been following the tour de france since i was a kid. i'd like to watch some of the action, but don't get oln (or any other sports channels; still have good ol' antenna) i tried to follow the first two stages on the official website, but it's just not the same as actually watching it.

You've got one more here.
I wonder why doesn't Discovery carry it as well. I only really watched the last 5 or so but it is fun explaining it to all my friends and family that tune in but don't really get it.
Even though I am a huge lance fan, I was disapointed that Zabriskie went down like that. Oh well the "fun" is just begining, bring the mountains.
Any of you have a wristband? I bought mine last year during the tour. I bought it for Lance but wore it for the whole year for my dog who was diginosed with bone cancer and had his leg amputated during the tour last year.

I'm watching when ever time permits me to so. I've been a roadracer myself in my younger days. Still the blood goes where it can't go and every now and then I fall for the bikes and the road races. I love the Tour and the spring classics. Very exciting, especially when you know first hand what is going on. Teamtactics and politics play a major part in the Tour. There are many great riders but you have to have allies and "combines" in an endurance race like this. If you don't, you just 'won't win.
Stay tuned and let's hope for Lance as he is incredible!!!

Another Tour fan here.
A year back I bought a USPS edition of the TREK 5200 (good bicycle). Enjoy cycling and enjoy this part of the year of the tour, although I don't usually start following close for another couple of days. The OLN coverage is the best it has ever been, and I can only hope it continues after Lance retires. Good stuff, and it'll be a year to watch and remember.
Used to be more of a triathlete that enjoyed the longer stuff, still enjoy the long rides as the bike was my favorite.

I've been working on my climbing and time trials. Last year He lead a breakaway at 100 km and I stayed with the peloton. We're still trying to reel him back in....WORKER#9 wrote:just attack early you can probably take him! :D

LOL even using a SPOT on his tires probably wouldn't work. I wonder how much faster/longer the average lance fan could go in his slipstream. Or with him in yours.
I hope that for the next tour they get him on TV a lot. Getting his oppinions on the race would be great.
The TV cameras almost caught one of the riders relieving himself today. He was reaching into his shorts and started to stand up to the side then at the last second they realized it and panned away.
Now come on and win this time trial LANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
