old catalog available?

#1

Post by Onehandclapping »

Hello all,

I used to have one of the small Spyderco catalogs, the type you could, and still can, pick up at a dealer's counter. I still have a few, but I seem to have lost the oldest ones. I want to get one or more of the ones showing discontinued knives. I want to get the pages for the C27 Jess Horn, and for the aluminum handled Civilian. If anyone can help me please let me know. Thank you.

Hi Onehandclapping. We stopped printing the older small booklet. We've just replaced it with an accordian fold out brochure.

If I'm not mistaken, the Civilian wasn't shown in the small ELU catalogs.

Hello Sal,
I sent you an e-mail saying most of this, plus a little more....
I think if you are able to find an early small blue catalog you will find it had a picture of the C27 Jess Horn, and, maybe if my memory is working, it also showed a Civilian. I wish I still could find my copies to be sure. My hope is there is another "pack rat" like me out there who has a couple, and is willing to part with one. I have not given up trying to find my copies, but I'm asking for help as insurance. If anyone does have an old copy, please tell me what is in it about these two knives.
Thanks for the help.

Onehand - I'll see if I can dig some up. sorry 'bout the email. I have a stack waiting for my attention. I've been travelling and I'm travelling quite a bit for the next month or so, so email probably won't happen other than critical stuff.

Send Olive your mailing address via email.

Scott~
I just happen to be one of those "pack rats" who hold on to many things. I have the little blue pdr in hand.
Info on SP C27:
Blade steel.......ATS 34
Length Blade......2 5/8"
Edge type.........Plainedge, serrated
Length overall....6"
Weight............2.4oz.
Hardness..........Rc 59-61
"This original Spyderco/Horn collaboration features an overall fit and finish comparable to Horn's custom designs. The jigged bone scales furnish a traditional look and incorporate a positive front lock. The polished interior handle parts and the sculpted stainless steel clip and bolsters reflect a meticulous attention to detail. The spearpoint-style blade includes a trapezoidal indent for one-hand opening and comes with either single-step serrations or a plain edge. Numbered and limited in production, this collectible piece exemplifies Horn's nearly thirty years of knifemaking experience."
I'll have to dig around to find info on the Civilian with Kraton insert.
Hope this helps.
Aloha~
Patti
