Chaparral with flat titanium scales and LC200N blade steel.

									Current Collection
Chaparral LW (CTS-XHP), Dragonfly 2 (VG-10), Mule Team (VG XEOS), Native 5 Salt (LC200N), Stretch 2 (K390)

Re: What's your "dream" spyderco? What combo of design/materials would you love to see?
A larger 7.5” version of the current K390 Dragonfly, same blue FRN.
A larger 7.5” Dragonfly with foliage green screw together G-10 and Cru-wear.
I know, the larger XL Dragonfly topic has been beat to death, but…..

For me, there's a handful I'd love to see:
1. A SpydieChef Sprint Run in some other sort of steel than LC200N. I'd like to see either a carbon (52100, Aogami Super, etc.), a vanadium carbide steel (CruWear/Z-Wear, Elmax, Vanax, an M4 Variant; something in the 2-4% vanadium range.), or a tough steel (Like A2, AEB-L, etc.) run hard-ish at 61-63hrc. In the chef world, we don't need salt-resistant steels too often, as we wipe and clean our blades often for hygiene and cross-flavor contamination reasons. Many are comfortable using pure-carbon steels with food, in terms of keeping them dry. What we need is edge retention, and fine-edge taking/high stability on thin grinds. Many of us know how to regrind/thin our blades on steels that can support near-zero geometry to improve their performance. The shape, size, and design of this knife is very useful in the kitchen for both board and in-hand work. It's a neat idea, being able to have a truly food-prep suitable blade always on you, or when traveling/camping. It just needs to be made from the sorts of steels that get culinary people's attention.
2. A Lil' SpydieChef. Similar to the Lil' Nilakka; just a shrunken version of the SpydieChef, with maybe a 2.3" edge length, and thinner blade stock to match. That'd be awesome. I'm not even 100% sure I'd care what steel the knife was in; it'd be awesome.
3. More sprint runs of the UK PK. I'd be all over that. Being able to get more blade steels in this knife pattern would be nice. 52100, PSF-27, CruWear or similar steels in this class, an M4-class steel, or a stainless in the 3-4% V range (Like S45VN) to bridge the gap between BD1N and S110V would be nice. I'd also love to see a UK PK with classier scales. Titanium, carbon fiber, micarta, etc. Could become an awesome gentleman's carry - especially in Europe - with nicer materials. Would certainly justify the higher price point.
4. A Lil' Swayback... Turn this into a 2" or less blade length knife, roughly the size of the Roadie, with a much thinner blade. Same materials. That would be an awesome, upmarket penknife.
5. K11/K12 Cook's Knife in LC200N with Corian Handles, and corrosion-resistant rivets. It would give me something I could honestly recommend to 'normal' people who insist on running their knives through the dishwasher. Both in SE and PE, just like before.
6. Left and Right Handed Spyder-Edge serrated grinds, or true 50/50 ground Spyder Edges.. Spyderco's serrations are the best serrations I've ever tried, but they are left-hand chisel ground, and do steer for right-handed users. Seeing either both left and right handed versions sold (Sushi knives are sold this way, which are also chisel ground.) or a truly symmetrical version would be AWESOME!
7. More rods and angles for the Galley Sharp. Bigger knives need love, too. 10-degrees is nice for better Japanese knives at high hardness, but also seeing a 15-18 degree angle slot would be nice for softer German ones, or a 12.5-degree for those in between. CBN/Diamond rods, and maybe some Ultra-Fine rods, as well.
I'd pick up any of these in a hot minute!

Manix 2 in 4v with either Terotuf or micarta scales in a grippy texture. Fortunately I have it. :)

I would love this mid-sized, 3.5" Native in G-10 and Rex45 or K390.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=90338
A SE Military or a SE Native Chief, both in G-10, are also up there.

Lum Tanto Folder, Ti frame lock, CE LC200N.
The above treatment on the Large Chinese(PE).
Dyad Jr. with bolsters/jigged bone, in Vanax.
Baby Horn, same as above.
Ikuchi in LC200N.
I could go on forever...

1-Spy27 Fluted CF Military
2-Spy27 Fluted CF Para3 LW
3-Spy27 Fluted CF PM2 only with solid cf linerless construction like the Para3 LW or BHQ PM2 Copper exclusive have.
Edit too add: A Spydiedge Spydiechef. I would be very happy with that. Add nothing but an available SE option.

Re: What's your "dream" spyderco? What combo of design/materials would you love to see?
After handling the endura 4 wharncliffe I’m thinking a fully serrated police 4 wharncliffe in m390 might be nice. Full flat grind, lightweight.

I’d like to see, in different materials, some Spyderco models I already have, but I actually have no models of my own imagining that I dream. What I do dream is finding Spydies I missed for some reason or other, such as the micarta Calypso, original G10 Urban, original Rock Lobster, Nilakka…

A Manix 2 Lightweight with Seki type FRN, jimping on the thumb ramp & choil only, with M4 or Cru-wear. Spyderco can choose the color, but a OD Green or even the S110V Blurple / Blue would be nice!
*****I’d even take this knife with a back lock, but either lock is fine!

Re: What's your "dream" spyderco? What combo of design/materials would you love to see?
I would just love to see the Goddard LW come back with updated steel (K390 maybe) and screw construction. A blue handle to make it match the rest of the K390 line would be amazing.

I think S90V and micarta would be excellent on all of my favorites (PM2, Military, Delica, Manix etc.) As far as specific model, the upcoming Military Compression Lock would be hard to beat in micarta and S90V me thinks.

G-10 (Dark Blue or Green) Hawkbill Dragonfly.
Plain Edge K390, Chisel Grind and Chisel Edge for ease of sharpening and acute edge geometry.
Would be the ultimate EDC for me.

Titanium Endura with FFG CPM Cruwear blade heat treated just like they have been doing it in Golden. If not titanium I'd do fine with buying a few FRN Cruwear Enduras.
I wouldn't mind a R or J.D.Smith Cruwear version also.
