Been skating pretty heavily again the past 2 weeks or so. I've taken a couple slams and rolled my ankle pretty good last night, I definitely don't recover like I did as a teen!

Brad Southard Hanan --not the best flipper, but the good news is, I can actually open it using the tiny thumb hole.

I was getting ready for work, and going off/from google for the EU size conversion, so maybe I misread it, or skipped a line or something?
I put that in there for Wartstein, who's over there in breathtakingly beautiful Austria. If you're saying 50.5, then that it, and thank you for pointing it out to me

Ya know ...

:)

there was just no way I wasn't going to post up a shot with my own trail runners after a run. I live at/near the beach, so there's a bit of sand here. This after a "short" 3.5 hour woods, beach, and dunes run. The heat/humidity is right off the charts!! "Real feel" right now is 103° F.
Thinking it's time to go nocturnal for my runs, until it cools down a little bit...

about two weeks now with my re-profiled Gen-1 PE PacSalt... all day, every day, 260 grit edge...

No that isn't a Salt, lol. I wear a size 15 (49.5 EU) .

That sounds like an intense work-out between the heat and the sand. Running in sand works your legs so much more.

Cool seeing one of the old school Pacific 1's with the coarse jimping.

I've been getting out to mountain trails for runs twice a week lately. For years I'd do cycling or kickboxing for cardio instead of running, but lately I've started enjoying going for runs.

No pictures of the merrells I used today for running up a mountain during a thunderstorm, but I did get a cool picture of my knife after the clouds broke:

Then this one captured the color of the dyed handle in sunlight extremely well:

PS - have you had to sharpen in that two weeks?

I haven't touched mine up since I made that sharpening video on the 5th. Won't shave but it worked great cutting up an apple at the summit and sliced up a t-shirt to make a make shift bandage for some injured hikers.
May you find peace in this life and the next.

Those are some sweet photos with your PacSalt vivi. I very much like the one with the clouds & the knife on the rock with the lichen!

You and anycal Both have some hike'n lichens in your photos too! How cool is that :)

As to sharpening it with that coarse edge on it in two weeks: No, I actually haven't because it is still cutting fine. It will not shave, but it glides through whatever I cut with it, is still "grabby", and it even "feels" sharp on my thumb when I check.
I keep checking it and using it, and so far it's doing fine in use. I've been carrying and using it every day.

Yeah, I like running & I like running long most. Though in this heat & humidity it is brutal. I went out after work this evening to do a "short" 1.5 hour "test" run, and it was glorious compared to when the sun's up these days. I may just stick to headlamp running after work for a while.
I even got to see a cool head weaving & bobbing Owl, and a Flying Squirrel. We won't discuss how many spider webs (rather large ones at that, lol) though...

And to prndltech: I checked inside my Altra's when I got home and both my Lone Peaks and Olympus are US Size 15 / EU Size 50. My Topo MT are US 15 / EU 50, and my Brooks Calderas are US 15 / EU 49.5. So it seems there is some variance.
I was just going off what google showed, and not what was in the shoe. The shoes that I ran in, and are in the photo, are my Altra Olympus, and they're EU 50 / US 15.

Me too me too! Time to get some new Altras I'd say. Dragonfly joined me for the trail run as usual. Hoping the color of mine fades to a similar green as what your Pac Salt has going Vivi. That knife looks sweet with the black blade/hardware and greens scales. Keep running gents!

I've got some provisions 2.5's I've had for a while. Usually not my first choice for runs since the padding is a little too squishy, but they're very comfortable for walks.

Thanks Paraguy! It’s the StNick’s with the diamond arc scales from the S45VN sprint released last year. :spyder:

I ran in my Altra Torin 4.0s today, but didn’t have a knife with me. Still waiting to pickup an H1 Dragonfly salt for that.

I like Altra shoes, they’re the only running shoes that really work for my wide forefoot. Some of their recent models have been considerably narrower, and it worries me that they’re giving up their niche for wider appeal.

The Stretch was in my pocket for work all day.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
