Time for a Vacation
Time for a Vacation
Well, tomorrow I am outta here :) On my way to camp with my wife and son. Gone for a week and a half. Quite excited to get out of the house and spend some time at the lake. As you all know it was a long winter for me so this is a welcome change.
I have all the fixins for a survival kit to make. Thanks for all you that contributed to my thread a few months back. It all goes together now. I will post pics when I get back.
I have to test out some new knives. A RJ Martin Rampage I just treated myself too and a Spydie Manix I got in a trade awhile back(that reminds me...I have to pack it still :o ) Lots of others too: Strider, HAK, George Tichbourne...some to be sharpened...others to be tested.
A little fishing and biking will be in order too.
Hope the family reunion I am going for does not get in the way of all my fun  :D :D :D Just Kidding!!!!!
Well, you folks take care.
Craig

garlic and b12... start eating them with every meal. Takes about a week to get a decent level in your blood, but after that the skeeters won't touch you.
You cannot overdose on either one. When you reach a level your body cannot process it'll let the excess go with your waste. No possible worry about toxicity.
I haven't been bitten yet this year... my dad has about 20 bites on his arms, mom's got about 15, my sister and niece layer up & slather bug goop on... they both still get bit. :D

Why do people worry more if you argue with your voices than if you just talk with them? What about if you lose those arguements?
Slowly going crazy at work... they found a way to make the voices work too.

Forgot the best part. When the little bundle of joy cries-out in the middle of the night, you'll never hear your wife say "It's your turn to feed the baby dear" ]The bugs are what I am dreading most. They are even bad in the city right now[/QUOTE]Actually Craig, the bugs are almost non-existent in TO right now. I sat out by the pool last night having a few cold brews, and wasn't bothered a bit by bugs. The bugs are probably turned-off by the smog and pollution in the air. :Dspyderknut wrote:Have fun Craig. You have guts traveling with a baby. I hope your wife is breastfeeding. Always there, nutritious and just the right temperature.
Enjoy the camp, and be safe!

You are one lucky guy... And talking from experience (2 kids), I am always amazed when I travel, go camping or just rent a cabin by a lake. It seems that children are very calm, accomodating and they sleep very well (and early) when on vacation. I wonder if its the natural effect of nature on them or the fact that parents are less stressed on vacation. Either way, it is far less troubles and much more fun that it seems.
Hey, a friend of mine went hiking and camping in the mountains with his girlfriend and 3 months old baby for 40 days in a row !!! And absolutly no problems. He still says it was the best trip of his life...
Enjoy your family and enjoy the chance you have to take distance with the everyday life with them...
Cheers...
Simon
P.S. A product called "Watkin'" ou "Buzz Buzz" (At Le Baron) is the best for mosquitos. But don't put it on baby. It burns their softy skin.
