Hello,

Well, I really appreciate :spyder: philosophy on that subject. And I aggree with it. And it made me think why I bought a Vortex backpack 3 years ago.

Usually, à back pack lasts around five years with me. I camp, wood, climb, cycle, play with kids, subway, school, work, picknik, swimming, fishing... Well, not a day goes by by without using heavilly my backpack. Used about all of them: North face, Gregory, Offspray,... And then, found Vortex... And loved the way they are built, just like :spyder: : Function before fashion, Designed in darkness,...

And then, saw their warranty :

You can rest assured that William Joseph's Vortex Backpacks warranty is the best in the business.

Our commitment is an UNCONDITIONAL LIFETIME WARRANTY. We don't care if you have a receipt or not, if you got it as a gift, or if you bought it at a garage sale. It doesn't matter if you backed over it with your truck, as long as its repairable, we will fix it for free, forever, no matter who's at fault and it's no questions asked.

No other manufacturer in the industry will provide this level of protection. Simply clean your pack or product (but DO NOT put it in your washing machine, ever) and call us at 800-386-7839 to obtain a return authorization number.

If you send your pack or product back without a return authorization number, we are not responsible for it being lost in the warehouse. We HIGHLY recommend that you use UPS, Federal Express, or some other shipping system that allows you to track your package. We have had many packages shipped to us and lost, due to poor delivery methods or lack of identification. DON'T let your pack be next!

You are responsible for shipping charges to and from us for the repair.

That is a warranty... And what about the pack I bought? Well, It is still up to its reputation... Solid as a... Manix... :D

Then there's the Tilley hat (http://www.tilley.com) warranty - it's replaced for free if it EVER wears out. They tell you to put it in your will because they don't mean a lifetime guarantee - they mean forever. I just had one that I had worn for years finally start to come apart. I took it to a dealer and they gave me a new one, no charge, no receipt required. The only condition - don't use chlorine bleach on, that voids the guarantee.

David, the Tilley hat is the BEST hat in the world...bar none. I have had two :) I lost my first one and when I went to buy the second one they said where is your warranty card. I could not find it...no I did not put it in my sock drawer(where they tell you to put it) I was more than happy to spend the money again. They are worth every penny.

I did the same thing with mine David. I really wanted to keep the old one for sentimental reasons .... we'd been so many places together and I kinda became attached to it, but I was required to give it up to get a new one at no cost even though I offered to sign whatever they wanted in order to let me keep it. Oh well.
