Yeah, it is not cheap. I think I payed 210€. The upcoming PM2 in Cruwear will cost a few € less, but not by much.

This is one I'd buy with different scales. I really don't like these enough to keep me away from one of my favorite models with one of the better steels.

I am a sucker for M4 so this will likely be my third Chief when I only planned on owning one. BHQ could have saved some money for me if this had dropped first! :D

Nice, now I just need the St. Nicks version to drop and I'll have 3 in DLC and 3 in Satin, that should sooth the OCD beast... ;)

Seriously though, I'm really glad to see this awesome model that's sat in relative obscurity finally getting some well deserved attention.

That DOES look good, but i'd be in it for the scales rather than the M4.

I kind of want one as the coated M4 would solve my issues with pitting. But do to the nature of BHQ drops, I will be avoiding it as I find no joy in feeding frenzies.

You probably will be able to swap with someone as many do not like the scales.

I like M4, I like DLC, and I've never owned a Chief. I'm on the notification list.
Hopefully by the time the knives arrive, I'll have gotten over the urge.

If I didn't already have a Rex 45 Chief, it'd be a lot more tempting...
I have a REX 45 Chief and it's still tempting because it needs a close friend.

Guess I'll be throwing the REX45 Chief back in my pocket the rest of the week, to see if there's room for a DLC version in the collection as well!

I put mine in my pocket on a whim just before hearing the news. Carrying it again today.

I love the rex version but green and black are my favorite colors and M4 is a favorite steel of mine. Only question is how many I'll pick up before I'm done.

Like the Swick coming out in LC200N, this is pretty much the perfect configuration of the Chief for me.

Only thing that could make it better would be a nice set of micarta scales to match my Manix XL :) Green dyed G10 will still look pretty slick though.
May you find peace in this life and the next.

Funny you mention dark green...because just last night after seeing this was dropping I went upstairs to look at my collection and thought about how many times I've been tempted to swap the KW exclusive green scales onto my BHQ DLC Para 3 with the DLC blade and hardware. I just don't like the look of jade with a satin blade, that would become the other Para 3.

Then I got to thinking this Chief could be my first attempt at RIT dye, because I may try to find a green similar to those KW exclusive scales.

I believe it may be member PStone that swapped the grooved green scales from the S45VN sprint onto his M4 blade and the colors looked fantastic together.

Unless I find aftermarket micarta scales this will be my excuse to do a batch of RIT. I like using blues because they turn my yellow salts green and jades blue. Though a nice green might be in order for this one.

That's the plan. Green scales and a DLC carbon steel blade is my favorite combo. The BHQ series is pretty much perfect for me with the way the scales take dye. Missed the Millie but I've got all the alerts set for this one.
