The S35VN offerings in the Tenacious line seems like very good value.
A WE Banter is going for $10 more, and I actually think that is pretty good deal. And going by Wartsteins feedback, they seem quite comparable in quality.

Now, I’ve quit buying Chinese made products for a few different personal reasons. Of course there is a bunch of products only made in China, so it’s necessarily a rule with a few exceptions. And being interested in knives I’ve also allowed myself the opportunity to keep an eye on what’s going on in that part of the knife world, in the form of allowing for one slot in my collection being a PRC made knife. Currently it’s a Banter, but the Resilience in S35VN is a tempting replacement.

Hi Ladybug,

Actually Eric worked for years with the makers and the heat treaters to make this a reality. I'm sure you will be pleased with the piece.

also, i know these aren't legos ;) but are the blades swappable? :D

The data we need is.... where are they in stock? I have looked around and only see, "coming soon" or "out of stock."
Same, anxiously waiting. Both the S35VN Tenacious and Resilience. They will be my next two Spydies!!!

i'm going to get it regardless of what's said here, but i thought i would ask and see if we can get more data.

I figure you will have read my posts "praising the Tenacious S35VN" since not many other seem to have one at this point ;)

So you´ll know that I am REALLY impressed with the overall fit and finish and built quality, the perfect, rock solid linerlock and so on (I wonder if the "premium" S35VN version perhaps even gets a more thorough quality control than the 8CRMOV FRN version, since two members here mentioned that the centering was a bit of after changing the clip from tip down to tip up with the latter. Nothing like that at all with my S35VN FRN model)

Concerning the S35VN steel:
Keep in mind I am neither a steel, nor sharpening expert, but I use and sharpen my knives a lot and so I do have an "instinctive feeling" (totally non scientific of course) how a steel behaves. And so far I really like Spydercos Chinese S35VN!

- Seems to keep an edge about the same as the S30V I know, and definitely longer than something like VG10 (as it should)
- No rolling or chipping so far, and I am not gentle with the Tenacious
- Can´t say much about the sharpening response, since I can´t really use my thumb at the moment due to an injury and so I don´t like to sharpen my knives at the moment if not absolutely necessary ("no thumb" really disturbs all the unconscious sharpening skills I must have aqcuired)
- Overall the Chinese S35VN on the Tenacious feels no different to the US S35VN on the Native 5 I once had.

Hi friend! your new knife looks great bro, great platform the tenacious, feels very strong for a linerlock.
You thinking of the serrated version :)
Have a great weekend mate.

edit, forgot to say, I think you'd love the resilience if you like the tenacious, its a tenacious on steroids.
Theres not many big folders like it, well worth getting.
I'll be grabbing a new serrated version to add to my plain.

My biggest gripe with the S35VN Tenacious: It does NOT come in full SE!!! Just in PE and comboedge... :(

The S35VN Resilience WILL come in SE though - one more reason to grab one!! :D

I do not believe the lw Tenacious s35vn has been released in the US, yet. It may sell quickly when it does. When initially announced I was somewhat interested, and thanks to Wartstein with his reviews and photos I will definitely try to get one.
I bought mine from the Spyderco website in I believe February or March.

Great to hear. I really missed out earlier this year.

Thanks to the posts earlier - finally got one. New Graham OOS, but Edgeworks still had some.

Just ordered from The fine folks at New Graham! Big thanks for letting us know.

Hope you´ll share your thoughts on this knife! My example is perfect as said, wonder if they are all THAT good!
Received mine today and thought I'd share my impressions per your request.

Pros:
- Fit & finish are outstanding
- Blade is well centered with zero play
- Jimping on the thumb ramp is well done
- Action is perfect w/firm detent and the liner lock leading edge engaging to just about halfway on the tang
- Blue FRN scales are very attractive with nicely chamfered edges
- The S35 was relatively easy to bring to a hair-popping edge and I could tell no discernible difference between it and the S35 on my Native 5 LW.

Question - Does anyone know if the S35 steel blanks were heat-treated in the US and then shipped to the plant in China? I ask because, so far, the S35 in this knife behaves pretty much like the S35 in my Golden-made Native 5 LW.

No real Cons, but here are my 'Could be better's:
- Clip came in tip down configuration. I changed it to tip up and noticed that the screws were barely snug. This was surprising to me since there was Blue Loctite on all of the screws. No worries, they're good and tight now. I don't particularly like this style of clip and will probably swap it out.
- All of the frame screws were pretty shy of snug. I snugged them up and will probably go through and loctite them all.
- Blade grind was very even but not very sharp.

Overall I am very pleased with this knife and glad to have a Tenacious back in my stable, especially one with S35 steel and handsome blue scales that really pop. I can't wait to add a new Resilience in S35 PE.

Thanks for your impressions of the S35VN Tenacious. Makes me look forward to the S35VN Resilience with great anticipation, too. Although I'm a tip up kind of guy, with a knife this size I may give tip down a go.

i just realized this jimping is different than the previous 8cr13mov version. how does it feel? it looks even more aggressive. i don't really care for the way it looks compared to the older jimping, but it won't stop me from getting my resilience.

I'll definitely be giving it a shot I have no problems with the 8cr13.
