For me : Terzuola's Starmate, Bill Moran's Featherweight and Wegner's clipit rocks! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> What's yours?
Samo,
1.Bob T's Starmate, 2. Bob Lum, 3. Wegner BIG, 4.the Shabaria, 5.Jot Singh, 6.Moran, 7. Walker and 8. even the SpyderCard!!!!
ALL of them float my boat <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>
Eventually I want all the collaboration models.
John
For me the top 3 are:
1) Peter Herbst
2) Michael Walker (The CF version, not the others)
3) Terzuola's Starmate
All with plain edges... The original Moran was nice also, but I don't like the new one at all.
Of what I have/have handled:
1. Moran with convex gring - because it is fixed
2. Starmate - because it is my most recent knife
3. Khalsa - because it is unique and very ergonomic
4. Wenger - utility materialized
I assume that Chinese folder will be high in my list when I get one.
Chinese folder for me too!!! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle> Too bad they can't make the BAT stick on the green almite handle.. <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>
My very favorite of the ones I have is the Jess Horn with bone handle (serrated blade)
Shabaria (on its way)
Viele
Lum
Bill Moran (had bill to sign leather sheath at The Blade Show 2000)
Walker C.Fiber
Starmate
Wegner Jr.
Wegner Mouse
Toad (both plan & serrated)
Old model Terzoulas (I have both sizes)
Herbst
Goddards(micarta baby,jr.large)
JD Smith
Jess Horn Micarta
Jess Horn stainless handle
Centofante blue
Centofante green
Centofante grey/black
Centofante (new style)
G10 Terzoula
Khalsa
Jess Horn Lightweight
My favorites ( don't own or have handled all)
all are serrated or combo.:
C25 Frank Centofante
C42 Howard Viele
C46 Bob Lum
C48 Tim Wegner
C55 Bob Terzuola Starmate
Gosh...I like all the collaboration knives but the two that really stand out are the Starmate and the large Wegner models. Once I get my mitts on the Chinook, this may change <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>
What's with the JD Smith? It never gets a mention. Is it not released yet? I just recently noticed it, and it has seriously caught my interest. Functional blade, very secure-looking handle, nice lines overall.
I can surely look forward to a few fixed bladed additions! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle><img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle><img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>
Hi Joe. The JD Smith is going through a new retool. Problems with the original maker. Very few were actually delviered. I believe you'll see/hear more when the new version comes about year end.
