CRKT Help

#1

Post by DavidS »

I have just received a new knife as a present (to replace a lost 'Native')
anyway, I need help trying to identify the knife - make, quality etc any info gratefully received

I side of the blade is marked "CRKT" - the other side "Carson design M21-12"

It seems like a titanium handel with holes - a bit like an A.T.R.

Any help??
Thanks David

As it said, a CRKT. Info on http://www.CRKT.com . The M21 is a mix of an M16 handle and a M18 blade. The 12 means partially serated (1) and the small version(2). I have a M21-04, 4 inches, plain edge. The handle is aluminium, the blade is AUS-8. Fit, finish and lock up are good. Mine is kept in the drawer because my Delica outcuts it any time. That goes for the Native too I guess.

Quoted (freely) from my brochure: When a series like Kit Carson's alu handled line has been so succesful it is bound for variations. In this case a spearpointblade similar to to the M18 designs. Steel is AUS 8. Teflon bearings at the bladepivot for smooth opening/closing action.
The open build uses contoured handles of 6061 T6 aluminium hard anodized charcoal grey. Also the LAWKS is incorporated in the model.

M21-12: Combo edge, overall length: 3.12", cutting edge 3.00", Thickness 0.12", Steel AUS 8, 57-58 HRC.

I hope I have been able to help you.
