A wakizashi, or "short sword" and please call it the "MUSASHI" in honor of the late Miyamoto Musashi. Must be made in Japan, fixed blade and sheath (scabbard). Somebody will do this and It may as well be Spyderco to reap the rewards! Similar to the new KUMO, but a tanto style blade would be more appropriate. A tanto with slightly rounded curves. Curving slightly in the style of the samurai. Make it super High-End and expensive, a limited run. MBC. You know I would pay dearly for this. Who else would want one?
Here is a pic of my Yamaha Musashi War Drum: (I did not take this pic)
I would have one.. For years I have been interested in Japanese culture, especially the Samurai, Ninja and the Bushido.I even read the "war book"of Musashi(years ago though) When I was youger(a lot) I cut katana's out of branches. So I am intersted( but don't make it toooo expensive)
WOW
Thats would be great, Spyderco Wakizashi :p
And in additon, that they have production in Japan, Seki! More Japanese style blades needed
But i dont know, thas not so easy, folded steel probably needed, but probably this will be a piece more than 600usd and up ...
Some modernized 7-8" VG-10 mirror polishing Yoshimitsu tanto blade would be better idea :)
I have Wakizashi, its Paul Chen Orchid Wakizashi, really good-sure, this is not some historical piece , but very good i think, its from trade- i traded for two Dior handbags and brand clothing with my friend from the college, good trade :)
It was sharp, but not so sharp, by my taste, so i spent 6! hours and i carefully sharpen edge with Sharpmaker fine and ultrafine stones(when i was home and i was licking my injuries from skiing..i have had a lot of time...), and now its like a scalpel...really good!
I dont know, if it will hold edge or not, but its not tool, its weapon, and i think, it will hold edge good in human case :p
Its Assab-K120C steel, what i found infos on the internet, **** know what its, i have read, that some P CHen´s products are made from old chinese rails...**** know...i joined swordforum.com, in hope, that i will ask there ...but they do not sent me registration email back, probably they think that im some troll, when they saw girl name ...
Classical case ...
Next i will go and i will join under- i use not my real name, but something a la "DeadlyNinja" and i dont doubt, that registration mail arrive ok ...
..oh no..there starts another topic...which wood is the best wood for blades?
Spyderco will lead with Lignum Vitae, stain resistant and water proof.. on their top of the line blades..
Followed by snakewood, tough and hardy for middle of the road.
Then in the economy corner...Japanese oak, good to look at, and reasonable edge holding... :D

Very good point! A little off topic, but I just watched a newer movie called "Samarai Fiction". Very entertaining! Like nothing I've ever seen before... Highly recomended. The cinematography is amazing and it's funny and silly and action packed and weird.
